Wired to win

In starting World Class Wire & Cable, James Lindenberg’s experience in the wire and cable business allowed him to recognize the need for a value-added manufacturer that could offer the service and response of a just-in-time distributor with competitive prices.

He decided early on that the automotive industry was going to be in constant need of wire and cable, and that has become a lucrative niche. Lindenberg has stayed on top of the industry by introducing a new product every quarter and diversified his business enough so that it’s not solely dependent on one sector.

The company’s largest revenue stream is a large number of firms that produce wire harnesses and assemblies for other manufacturers. Additionally, the company’s approach to filling orders and its access to cash has allowed it to carry inventory, an approach that has helped it become a major supplier to other distributors of wire and cable.

In order to provide superior service to its customers, the company provides multiple services including the ability to stripe, dye, inkjet print and topcoat wire. Most distributors choose only to provide one or two of these services, if any.

Lindenberg believes that his company is only as strong as its weakest employee. To that end, he takes the role of employer and recruiter for his company very seriously. He believes it is imperative that only enthusiastic, engaged and customer-focused people work for him. Every employee has a vested interest in the success of the company and all employees are entitled to the same profit-driven bonus program.
