Massa Realty & Development has partnered with Warner Trautman Real Estate Services to form Massa/Trautman Property Management, which will be instrumental in adding services for the current clients of both companies as well as providing effective management for their own buildings. Bruce Massa and Paul Trautman will be equal partners in the venture, with Trautman serving as president.

M&P Construction Co. and Apex Construction LLC have united under one company name, Apex/M&P Construction LLC. The change occurs as a natural transition for the two companies as the leadership passes on to the next generation. Joel Kingsley, president of Apex Construction, will be president of the new company; Paul Sharfin, chairman of M&P Construction, is chairman.

“I am looking forward to assuming more of a community relations position and acting as an adviser, while my son-in-law, Joel, assumes the leadership role in the growing business,” Sharfin says. The company also is moving to new headquarters in Blacklick. Apex/M&P has 40 employees, with revenue projected to exceed $30 million this year.

Conrad, Phillips & Vutech has won six awards, including a Best of Show for its work for Children’s Hospital, from Healthcare Marketing Report’s annual Healthcare Advertising Awards. The agency won Best of Show and Gold for Direct Mail for a piece sent to parents who have recently moved. The mailer was folded into the shape of a diaper, complete with diaper pin closure. Conrad, Phillips & Vutech also won four other awards for its branding, print and television advertising and direct mail work with Children’s.

Corna/Kokosing Construction Co. has been selected to build the new Capital Center, a 135,000-square-foot athletic facility for Capital University. The project is under construction and scheduled for completion in late 2001.

Discover Financial Services is moving its two Columbus-based operations to the newly constructed New Albany Operations Center. The company’s 1,600 local employees are moving to the new facility, which includes a fitness center, full service cafeteria and sundries store. Discover Financial Services is looking to recruit approximately 300 new employees for the New Albany Operations Center, which was built to house more than 3,500 employees. Discover Financial is a business unit of Riverwoods, Ill.-based Morgan Stanley Dean Witter & Co.

Gerbig, Snell/Weisheimer & Associates Inc. has announced that the eHealth division of Creative Healthcare Solutions will become part of NGDA Interactive Communications. NGDA and Creative Healthcare Solutions are subsidiaries of Gerbig Snell. Dan Twibell, formerly senior vice president/managing director of eHealth, has been named president of NGDA. Bringing the eHealth division under NGDA will help eliminate duplicate sales activities and allow a more seamless marketing effort.

Pacesetter, a Columbus corporate apparel and promotional products company, has been named one of the Top 10 Fastest-Growing Distributors by the Advertising Specialty Institute. To be considered for the recognition, distributors had to have been active in the promotional products industry since at least 1995; report 1996 sales of more than $200,000; and show an increase in revenue from 1998 to 1999. Pacesetter had an increase of 42 percent in sales in 1999.

Greencrest has added Strategic Resource Partners, a human resource company that helps corporations hire recent college graduates and transition them into successful business professionals, to its client list. Greencrest will handle the Columbus-based company’s media relations and create marketing strategies, corporate branding, collateral materials and a corporate Web site.

Nebraska-based AMCI, a manufacturer of software and hardware wireless solutions for mobile workers and fleet management crews, has acquired the FieldPro Field Service Management Software subsidiary of Symix Systems Inc., based in Columbus.

Executive Jet Inc. has inaugurated its new operational headquarters complex at Port Columbus International Airport. The 200,000-square-foot facility provides a full range of technical services. The company, which was purchased by Berkshire Hathaway in July 1998, manages more than 286 aircraft for its NetJets fractional aircraft ownership program, with more than 428 aircraft on order. Managed by Gilbane Building Co., the construction of the new facility at 4111 Bridgeway Ave. was designed by architects URS Greiner Woodward & Clyde.
