Kent Oliver, founder, president and creative director of Oliver Advertising, and Paul Carringer, a producer of video, audio and live events for retail, direct-to-consumer, business-to-business and charitable organizations, have merged their businesses to form a new partnership, OC Advertising, a full-service marketing communications company serving clients nationwide.
The Ohio Housing Finance Agency Board has approved a loan for Hotel St. Clair for a $1.3 million compensating balance loan, a $1.3 million equity bridge loan and a $73,600 seed money loan to renovate the historic St. Clair Hospital and two buildings in Columbus.
Grove City-based Byrum Lithographing Co. has completed the sale of the company to Houston-based Consolidated Graphics. With this transaction, Consolidated Graphics makes its first entry into the Central Ohio market and bolsters its overall presence in the Midwest. Operating as a subsidiary of Consolidated Graphics, Byrum Lithographing will retain its name and continue to be led by its existing senior management.
Columbus-based Promark Electronics has created Nexergy Inc. to build a national network of OEM custom battery pack design and assembly centers. This corporate move follows the launch of a national acquisition program in May 1999 which will continue under the Nexergy banner. Nexergy Inc. becomes the parent company for Promark Electronics, with manufacturing plants in Columbus and Gainesville, Ga., and DC Battery Products, with a plant in Minneapolis. In addition, the company has signed a letter of intent to acquire San Diego-based Tauber Electronics and add it to the Nexergy network of companies. Nexergy’s subsidiaries have combined sales in excess of $25 million per year.
Anticipating sales growth of approximately 70 percent in the new year, REMEDI Consulting Co. has relocated to 96 Northwoods Blvd. The current 11-person staff will increase to 18 to handle the growth, which REMEDI expects to result from its expanded business-to-business electronic commerce services.
