Spada named Stonebridge president, CEO

Joseph C. Spada was appointed president and CEO of Stonebridge Bank.

Spada has more than 30 years of experience. He previously worked as executive vice president of Blue Ball National Bank and executive vice president of the Bank of Baltimore.

Spada earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering administration from the University of Delaware. He also completed his MBA in finance at Loyola College and attended the National School of Banking at Brown & Fairfield Universities.

Spada began his career with the Bank of Baltimore, where he spent 18 years. He started as a management trainee in 1973 and worked his way up to executive vice president of the bank and vice president of the bank’s holding company. While at the Bank of Baltimore, he led the largest initial public stock offering ever in the state of Maryland.

At Blue Ball National Bank, Spada more than tripled the bank’s assets, loans and deposits, and increased the number of branches from seven to 19.

Spada is a board and finance committee member of United Way and director and treasurer of TABOR Community Services. Additionally, he serves on the regional board for the chamber of commerce and as board chair for Berks County Bankers Association and Bankers Title Agency.

POLYMEDIX INC.
PolyMedix Inc. appointed Timothy Henkel, M.D., Ph.D. as vice president, drug development and chief medical officer.

Henkel has developed a number of antibiotic and antifungal drugs. He comes to PolyMedix from Vicuron Pharmaceuticals, where from 2001 to 2005 he was executive vice president and CMO. Previously he was vice president of world wide anti-infective clinical development at GlaxoSmithKline.

He will lead all of PolyMedix’s clinical, regulatory, and other drug development efforts.

Henkel earned his M.D. and Ph.D. from the Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine.

J&J SNACK FOODS CORP.
Don McComas
was appointed national director of product development for J&J Snack Foods Corp.

McComas formerly worked as national director of product development for Country Home Bakers, a subsidiary of J&J Snack Foods. His responsibilities have expanded to include product development for all divisions of the company.

He has more than 20 years of experience in the bakery industry. Prior to joining JJSF, he worked as corporate chef for Pillsbury Bakeries and Foodservice and Hazelwood Farms Bakeries.

McComas is a qualified Certified Baker through American Institute of Baking and a Certified Master Baker through the Retailers Bakery Association. There are only 150 Certified Master Bakers in the United States.

DUANE MORRIS LLP
Duane Morris LLP hired Steven L. Friedman as a member of the trial practice group.

Friedman was previously co-chair of the litigation department at Dilworth Paxson LLP. He focuses his practice on sophisticated corporate and commercial litigation in areas including trademark and patent infringement. With more than 30 years of trial experience in federal and state courts, Friedman speaks and writes on issues of intellectual property, technology and e-commerce.

Friedman earned his bachelor of arts degree in history from Yale University and his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.

IMMUNICON CORP.
Byron D. Hewett
was promoted to president and CEO of Immunicon Corp.

Hewett previously served as president and COO of the company. Prior to joining Immunicon, he worked as senior vice president of sales and marketing and general manager, North America, for Qiagen Inc.

Hewett earned a bachelor of science degree from the McIntire School of Commerce at University of Virginia and a master’s degree in management from the J.L. Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

WEINTRUB TELECOMM
Mark Wilson
joined Weintrub Telecomm as controller.

Wilson has more than 25 years of accounting experience. Most recently he was the comptroller for McKeon Inc. He has also worked as the controller for Weingartner Development Co., Metro Pipe and Supply, and Shihadeh Carpet.

Wilson earned a bachelor of science degree from Widener University.

Susan Capozzoli
has been appointed trust officer in the investment services and trust group at First Financial and Willow Grove Bank.

Capozzoli is a certified trust financial administrator. Prior to joining Willow Grove Bank, she worked with the Vanguard National Trust Co. and the Vanguard Group Inc. as a trust investment manager for 10 years. She has also previously worked with CoreStates Bank N.A.
