HealthCare Transaction Processors Inc. promoted Ray M. Shealy to CEO. He takes over for co-founder Dennis Swartzlander, who will continue as chairman of HTP’s board of directors.
Shealy joined the company in May as president and chief operating officer. He brings more than 15 years of experience within large corporations and technology start-up companies to HTP.
“In less than a year, he has helped us to launch two new products and accelerate our growth and expansion into the health care provider and RHIO markets,” says Swartzlander. “We feel confident that he has the skills to take HTP to its next level of success. We are extremely pleased to work with someone like Ray who shares our vision and passion for new IT solutions in health care.”
Shealy has experience in business development, profit-and-loss management, capital acquisition, marketing, systems integration and technology management. Before joining HTP, he spent eight years with T-Systems North America Inc., growing it to a $300 million information technology services and network company. He joined T-Systems after the company acquired Debis IT Services. Debit IT had previously acquired Technology Asset Management, which Shealy co-founded in 1997.
He has also held managerial positions with IBM Global Services and Chrysler Systems Leasing and began his career as a financial accountant with Ernst & Young in Chicago after earning a bachelor of science degree in accounting from The Ohio State University. Shealy is also a CPA.
PROGRESSIVE MEDICAL INC.
Tron Emptage was named vice president of national accounts management at Progressive Medical Inc. He is responsible for implementing and servicing national customers, following industry trends and leading the national account management team, as well as developing new pharmacy, clinical and technology product solutions for customers.
He previously worked as vice president of pharmacy services for the company and has more than 16 years of pharmaceutical experience. He earned his degree in pharmacy from The Ohio State University and a master’s degree from Ashland University.
FIFTH THIRD BANK
Anthony Rose was hired as a new mortgage regional sales manager. He manages three to five mortgage loan originators for Fifth Third Bank. He also works to create strong client relationships and complete mortgage loans for the Gahanna area.
Rose earned a bachelor of arts degree in business administration from Otterbein College. He has several years of experience in the mortgage industry.
Also at Fifth Third, Christopher Nottke was named officer. Nottke was previously banking center manager of the Columbus Square Banking Center. He is responsible for managing the office and employees and working with the surrounding community.
Nottke earned a bachelor of science degree in ag/education from The Ohio State University. He previously worked as office manager at the Dublin/Avery Banking Center.
SYPHERLINK INC.
Sypherlink Inc. hired James King as vice president of product management. Prior to joining Sypherlink, King held senior level positions within product management, sales and operations for Sterling Commerce. He also worked as product manager for Checkfree Corp. Prior to that, he was operations manager for Cass Information Systems.
Also at Sypherlink, Fouzia Burgoon was hired as vice president of software solutions. Burgoon has more than 15 years of experience leading the data warehouse, data modeling and data integration initiatives of global 1000 companies with a focus in insurance and financial services. She spent 10 years with Nationwide Insurance and has worked for B2B integration and National City Corp.

ProXterior Inc. hired Matthew Gayheart as manager of its new deck and fence construction division.
CHEMICAL ABSTRACT SERVICE
Chemical Abstract Service appointed Catharina Maulbecker vice president, marketing and sales. Her responsibilities include managing and directing CAS’ worldwide marketing, sales, customer support and communication programs.
Prior to joining CAS, she worked as a consultant to clients in Europe and the United States, including CAS. Before that, she founded and managed GetWellness, an online business in Europe. For her work with GetWellness, she received several awards, including the 2001 Business Woman of the Year in Switzerland. She is also a former management consultant with McKinsey & Co.
Maulbecker earned a Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of California, Berkeley. She also holds a patent in developmental biology and cancer research.

Richard S. Lamden was voted in as chair-elect for the board of directors of the Association for Ohio Philanthropic Homes and Services.
He is president and CEO of Wexner Heritage Village and has more than 30 years of experience in the field of aging services. He has served as an advocate with the Association of Jewish Aging Services and the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging.

Tariq Khan was named vice president for market development and diversity for Nationwide Financial Network.
Khan has more than 15 years of experience in developing and supporting large and diverse sales forces and in helping financial services companies target emerging markets. Prior to joining Nationwide, he worked for Guardian Life Insurance Co. of America. Before that, he was vice president for MetLife Inc.
Khan earned his bachelor’s degree in international marketing/advertising from Baruch College and his MBA in marketing and management from St. John’s University.
