Renée DeLuca Dolan’s relentless desire to think outside the box
has made her a visionary in the world of design. As president and
creative director of Contemporary Design Group Inc. — a graphic
design firm specializing in brand and image development — has
used her vision to land clients including the Cleveland Indians,
Eaton Corp., Heinen’s Fine Foods and COSE.
CDG’s mission is to add value to its customers’ brand
identities and presence in the marketplace, which it does
through niche marketing, such as sponsoring events, e-mail
marketing and referral incentives for clients and business
partners. But the biggest area of growth has been in
Internet marketing and the tracking of e-marketing pieces,
including e-newsletters, e-invites, Web banners and customer e-cards for clients.
As a result of Dolan’s innovative approach, CDG has averaged a 45 percent growth in sales during the last three
years.
But her business isn’t Dolan’s only focus. Last November, she
launched CBC Magazine, Cleveland Business Connects, a
monthly publication focused on networking and monthly
events, and it also promotes CDG’s creative services and
publishing capabilities.
Dolan has also partnered with COSE on the Northeast Ohio
Business Plan Challenge, an 18-month competition in which
entrepreneurs submit business plans. Eight executive judges
review the plans, and then award three winners all of the tools
and assistance needed for each to launch his or her new business. For its collateral and Web work on
the 2003 Business Plan Challenge, CDG received an Award of
Distinction during the International Communicator Awards
Print Media Competition.
Dolan is also committed to the community, primarily arts in
schools and communities. She is involved in Art for Children’s
Sake, an annual fundraiser for The Littlest Heroes, a nonprofit
organization that promotes spiritual, emotional and physical
healing of children with cancer and their families. The fourth
annual fundraiser, featuring a juried art show and auction,
raised more than $15,000.
