Graebel Columbus Movers Inc. was named Graebel’s Company of the Year. Graebel, headquartered in Denver, recognized Graebel Columbus for its excellence in customer service, operations, growth and profit.
Greencrest, a full-service advertising, marketing and public relations firm, has hired Jacquelyn Stacey as operations manager. Prior to joining Greencrest, Stacey was office manager for a retail design firm.
Thomas W. Hess has become chairperson of Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs LLP’s Health Law Practice Group. Hess has more than 25 years of comprehensive health law experience and is serving a three-year term on the Ohio Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators.
LifeCare Alliance has named Sherry Bailey development director. She will lead LifeCare’s annual golf outing and other fund-raising activities. LifeCare Alliance is the first visiting nurse association formed in Ohio and is best known for its Meals-on-Wheels program.
John Gentner was named to head the institutional sales area of Fifth Third Bank, Western Ohio. He is responsible for recommending investment options for larger commercial customers and public entities. His past positions with Fifth Third include business development officer and investment representative for Fifth Third Securities Inc.
Gilbane Building Co. promoted D. Thomas Goderre, P.E., to senior project manager for its Public Employees Retirement System of Ohio’s $94 million building and expansion project. Goderre is being promoted after a successful project at Columbus International Airport Parking Garage and Terminal Expansion.
Columbus entrepreneurs Jimmy Borden and partner Ed Riley have launched a new bottled water product. Called Buckeye Lake’s Swamp Water, it is available in local restaurants including Aladdin’s Eatery, Club 185 and the Elevator Brewing Co. The crystal-clear water is bottled from Amanda Hills Springs in Etna, Fairfield County, near Buckeye Lake.
Columbus Airport Authority has chosen The Creative Spot, a full-service advertising agency, as its agency of record for marketing and creative services. The Creative Spot and the Authority will work together to handle all aspects of the Authority’s marketing and advertising objectives.
Carl D. Smallwood, partner with the Columbus office of Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP, has been named one of 10 Lawyers of the Year for 2001 by Ohio Lawyers Weekly. Smallwood’s dedication to diversity within the field and his work as immediate past president of the 4,900 member Columbus Bar Association were recognized.
Rich Shearrow, founder and president of Employer Advantage has been named vice president of the Ohio Association of Professional Employer Organizations. As vice president Shearrow will concentrate primarily on fund-raising and on generating ideas for association programs.
Pro-Terra Environmental Contracting Co. has promoted Michael Ciammaichella to vice president of operations. Ciammaichella has more than 14 years of construction experience and was most recently general manager of the company.
Kip Morse, former executive vice president and assistant manager, succeeds Ron Miller as president and general manager of the Better Business Bureau of Central Ohio. Miller will remain as senior consultant to the BBB and the newly formed BBB Foundation.
