If you’ve ever looked out of your car window and seen a truck tarp flapping in the wind, or if you’ve stood under an awning or a tent in a rainstorm, these are the products that Miller Weldmaster Corp.’s customers make.
The Navarre-based company has been producing machines for the fabrication of industrial fabrics products since 1983.
Over the past five years, Miller Weldmaster has increased its annual sales from $1.5 million to $6.1 million, and the number of employees has grown from 20 to 55. The company has doubled its manufacturing and administrative floor space and undergone three expansions.
The industry of welding thermoplastic industrial fabrics is taking hold in the European market, and the company has established its European distributing plan. Miller Weldmaster has six full-time traveling engineers and technicians and two part-time traveling technicians who maintain and service the company’s machines all over the world.
Recent innovations at Miller Weldmaster include the development of a machine to satisfy the needs of small sign shops, the development of hot wedge technology for the assembly of delicate thermoplastic materials and the development of multi-panel welding systems for the labor reduction and production requirements of the company’s larger customers, enabling customers to keep a majority of their work in the United States.
The company also has established a distribution network for the sign and billboard industry and for the distribution of the company’s first consumable product, a heat-activated acrylic welding tape used for the bonding of nonthermoplastic materials.
