National Penn elected Robert L. Byers to the boards of National Penn Bancshares Inc. and National Penn Bank. He serves a three-year term.

Byers is founder and chairman of Byers’ Choice Ltd., creators of the Caroler figurines, a line of Christmas collectibles. Byers formed the company in 1978 with his wife and directed its day-to-day operations until his semi-retirement in 2000.

Byers has served as a director or trustee of organizations including Drexel University, The National Liberty Museum, Salvation Army, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, The World Affairs Council and Teach for America. He was a founder and director of FirstService Bank, which was acquired in 2003 by National Penn. Byers and his wife established The Byers Foundation to fund charitable activities.

He is the recipient of numerous awards, including Philanthropist of the Year by the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the National Society of Fund Raising Executives in 1994 and the National Caring Award in 2000 from the Caring Institute.

Byers received a bachelor of science degree in business administration and an honorary Ph.D. from Drexel University.

FORMULA TELECOM SOLUTIONS LTD.

Formula Telecom Solutions Ltd. (FTS) appointed Shaul Ganel president, North America division. Ganel is responsible for all aspects of regional operations. He oversees FTS’ expansion in North America, including delivery, customer fulfillment, sales and management.

Ganel came to FTS from Amdocs, where he most recently was division president of North America. Prior to that, he held technical and managerial positions with Wall Street firms, as well as the CIO position at a New York medical supplies firm. He holds a bachelor of arts and a master of arts degree in computer science from Queens College of the City University of New York.

DUANE MORRIS LLP

Carol Ann Mueller joined the real estate practice group at Duane Morris LLP as a partner in its Philadelphia office.

Mueller represents clients in the acquisition, disposition, leasing, development and financing of real estate, both regionally and nationally. She also has represented lenders and borrowers in secured transactions, including construction and permanent mortgage financing and workouts, as well as buyers and sellers. Her experience includes preparing and negotiating numerous ground and space leases for regional and national clients. In addition, Mueller has overseen the due diligence aspects of the formation of a large real estate investment trust.

She holds a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law and earned her bachelor of arts degree in English from St. Joseph’s University.

BRANDYWINE HOSPITAL

Brandywine Hospital appointed Warren E. Callaway to lead the hospital’s management team as CEO, replacing Don Henderson. Callaway is a fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives and holds a B.B.A. in hospital administration and a master’s degree in health administration from Georgia State University.

Brandywine also hired as assistant CEO R. Damon Brown. Brown, a graduate of the University of North Texas with a bachelor of science degree in accounting, holds an MBA from the University of Colorado and is a CPA.

ADOLOR CORP.

Adolor Corp. named Richard M. Woodward, Ph.D., vice president – discovery, and promoted George R. Maurer to vice president, commercial manufacturing.

Woodward oversees the discovery research teams that include pharmacology, biology, drug metabolism and toxicology, with a primary focus on the discovery of drugs for the treatment and management of pain.

Maurer is responsible for all manufacturing operations, including overseeing relationships with contract manufacturing organizations.

NEOSE TECHNOLOGIES INC.

Neose Technologies Inc. elected H. Stewart Parker to its board of directors.

Parker managed the formation of Targeted Genetics as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Immunex Corp., which was subsequently acquired by Amgen. Parker has been president, CEO and a director of Targeted Genetics since its inception in 1989. She has held various positions at Immunex, most recently vice president, corporate development.

Parker also was president and a director of Receptech Corp., a company formed by Immunex to accelerate the development of soluble cytokine receptor products. She serves on the board of directors and the executive committee of the Biotechnology Industry Organization and as a director of several privately held companies.

Parker received her bachelor of arts and MBA degrees from the University of Washington.

SAINT-GOBAIN CORP.

Saint-Gobain Corp. named Todd Schock vice president, controller. Previously, he was corporate controller of the company’s Saint-Gobain Calmar business in California.

Schock has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from The Pennsylvania State University. He joined Saint-Gobain Calmar in 1997 as director of financial analysis and has more than 20 years of experience in accounting, primarily with manufacturing and publicly held companies.

FMC CORP.

FMC Corp. named Brennen Arndt director, investor relations. Arndt replaces Eric Norris, who has been appointed director, corporate development.

Arndt worked in a range of business, strategic and financial roles for Air Products and Chemicals Inc., including director, investor relations and director, corporation communications. Most recently, he held the position of director, investor and corporate relations at GMP Companies Inc. Arndt holds a bachelor of science degree in engineering and an MBA from Lehigh University.
