Ken Killion was named CEO of Wolters Kluwer Health’s Clinical Tools division. Wolters Kluwer Health is a division of Wolters Kluwer NV and provides information for health care professionals. Killion, who previously served as executive vice president, will oversee all operational aspects of the business unit, including the drug information, e-prescribing and clinical decision support components.
Killion joined Facts & Comparisons, a product line of Clinical Tools, as executive publisher in 2000. He brings more than 25 years of experience in professional publishing to his new role, both with Wolters Kluwer companies such as Aspen Publishers and Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, and with other industry-leading publishers. He holds a bachelor of science degree in marketing from the University of Baltimore.
Former Clinical Tools division CEO Dr. Jon Seymour was named executive vice president and chief medical officer of Wolters Kluwer Health. Seymour will work with all major WKHealth brands, such as Ovid Technologies, Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, Medi-Span, Adis International and Facts & Comparisons to effectively leverage the brand assets in all major growth areas of medical information, including point-of-care, point-of-learning, electronic medical record, e-prescribing and related strategies.
Seymour is responsible for executing agreements with strategic health industry partners for enterprise applications that integrate WKHealth information and tools into comprehensive medical information systems. He holds an M.D. from the University of Florida College of Medicine and a bachelor’s degree in physics from Duke University.
CBIZ
Century Business Services Inc. named Saul V. Reibstein eastern region head of the Accounting, Tax & Advisory Services division effective Sept. 1. Reibstein is responsible for managing the east region accounting practice, which includes CBIZ offices in Philadelphia, New York, Atlanta, Maryland and Florida. Reibstein is charged with the development, growth and profitability of the accounting division in this region.
He comes to CBIZ with 35 years of experience in public accounting servicing both public and private companies, specializing in family business consulting and firm management and administration. Prior to joining CBIZ, Reibstein was partner and regional business line leader for BDO Seidman in Philadelphia. He holds a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting degree from Temple University.
Constar International Inc.
William S. Rymer was named executive vice president and CFO of Constar International Inc. He joined Constar in September 2003 as vice president and corporate controller.
During his 13 years in corporate finance and public accounting, he has held numerous positions of increasing responsibility. His career progression includes assignments as audit manager at Arthur Andersen LLP, manager of external accounting and reporting at Collins & Aikman Corp., senior vice president of finance for Glenoit Corp. and CFO, vice president and corporate secretary for American Pacific Enterprises LLC.
Rymer is a CPA and graduated from Wake Forest University.
Technitrol Inc.
Drew A. Moyer was appointed senior vice president and CFO of Technitrol Inc. Previously, he served as vice president, controller and secretary. As CFO, Moyer is responsible for all financial functions of Technitrol, including financial reporting, internal audit, treasury and tax. He will continue as chief accounting officer. Moyer joined Technitrol in 1989, becoming controller in 1995 and secretary in 1997.
The company also named Thomas J. Considine Jr. corporate secretary. Considine, vice president and treasurer, will continue his duties as treasurer and report to Moyer. Considine is responsible for board functions and securities operations in addition to his treasury duties of global cash management, credit finance and risk management.
Advanta Corp.
Bill Rancic, the Chicago cigar salesman who won Donald Trump’s reality TV show “The Apprentice,” was hired by Advanta Corp. as the company’s new spokesman. Advanta is third-largest seller of credit cards to small business owners in the United States.
Rancic founded a cigar store called Cigars Around the World in Chicago in 1995. The company was sold to publicly traded Synergy Brands Inc. last year. Synergy plans to spin off the subsidiary that owns Cigars Around the World later this year, with Rancic as the chairman. His likeness will be used on Advanta’s direct-mail marketing materials and he will speak to potential customers at meetings and conferences around the country.
ACE USA
Joe Clabby was named head of ACE USA’s new financial services practice. He will add the responsibilities to his role as senior vice president of ACE Financial Solutions. This specialized practice will focus on providing comprehensive risk management solutions to the financial services market segment, a sector to include commercial banks, diversified financial services organizations, insurance companies, mutual funds and securities firms.
As the financial services practice leader, Clabby is responsible for the coordination of the marketing and distribution of ACE USA’s capabilities, as well as developing new product ideas and identifying opportunities to expand existing relationships in this important market segment. Prior to joining ACE in November 2001, Clabby was a member of senior management for the banking industry practice of Swiss Re.
IKON Office Solutions
Brian Edwards was named senior vice president, North American sales, for IKON Office Solutions. Edwards, former vice president and general manager of IKON’s western region, is responsible for driving sales execution and generating profitable growth for IKON. The company’s four regional vice president/general managers in North America will report to him.
Edwards began his IKON career as a sales representative in 1985. By 1988, he was appointed district sales manager and served in a variety of sales management roles until becoming a general manager in 1994. Edwards holds a bachelor of science degree in marketing from the University of Rhode Island.
