Celadon Group Inc. appointed Thomas Glaser president, a position previously held by Chairman and CEO Steve Russell.

Glaser joined Celadon in May 2001 as executive vice president of operations and was promoted to chief operating officer in November 2003. In these capacities, he headed Celadon’s sales and operations functions and had primary responsibility for implementing the strategic plan to improve profitability. He has a bachelor of arts degree and an MBA from the University of Michigan.

Russell says, “Tom has been a tremendous leader and played a crucial role in bringing about recent improvements in our operating results. In recognition of his substantial contributions to the company, we are delighted to provide Tom with this increase in responsibilities, and are confident that he possesses the skills, drive and experience to excel in this position.”

Celadon Group Inc. is a truckload carrier headquartered in Indianapolis that operates in the United States, Canada and Mexico. It is also the majority owner of TruckersB2B Inc., a provider of cost benefits to more than 16,000 member fleets.

BOSE MCKINNEY & EVANS

Indianapolis-based Bose McKinney & Evans LLP named J. Taggart “Tag” Birge a partner. Birge is a real estate attorney who concentrates his practice in areas including zoning, leasing, and acquisition and disposition of real estate. He is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts of the Southern and Northern Districts of Indiana and the state of Indiana. He received his bachelor of arts degree from Indiana University, cum laude, and his law degree from the University of Virginia.

Birge is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, is the UVA law school alumni president for the class of 1997 and received a Governor’s Fellowship under Gov. Evan Bayh. He also serves on Bowen Engineering’s board of directors, the Indiana Sports Corp. board and the Orchard School board of trustees.

Carrie Wagner Bootcheck was also elected partner. Bootcheck is an attorney in Bose McKinney & Evans’ litigation group and concentrates her practice in construction, mold, ERISA, trial advocacy and general business litigation.

She is a member of the American, Indiana State and Indianapolis bar associations, and is admitted to practice before the Indiana Supreme Court and the U.S. District Courts, Northern and Southern Districts. Bootcheck earned her bachelor of arts degree from Miami University, magna cum laude, and her law degree from Indiana University – Bloomington, cum laude.

STANDARD MANAGEMENT

Standard Management Corp. appointed Michael G. Browning of Indianapolis and Dan B. French Jr. of Detroit to its board of directors.

Browning is chairman and president of Browning Investments Inc. He is lead director of Cinergy Corp., one of the nation’s largest energy companies. He serves as a member of Cinergy’s executive and corporate governance committees and chairs the compensation committee.

French is president of Leonard Capital Markets. During the last 18 years, he has distinguished himself as a leader in corporate finance for small to medium-sized businesses specializing in mergers and acquisitions, public offerings and private placements.

EXACTTARGET

ExactTarget, a developer of on-demand e-mail marketing software solutions with more than 2,800 customers, added two key executives in the areas of finance and strategy to support the company’s growing business.

Traci Dolan was named vice president of finance and administration. She oversees the entire financial management and direction of ExactTarget, which received a $10.5 million venture capital investment from Insight Partners earlier this year. In addition, she is responsible for administrative functions involving human resources, insurance, real estate and legal issues.

Previously, Dolan served as vice president of finance and administration, secretary and treasurer of Made2Manage Systems, Indianapolis. There, she led the effort to privatize the company, which was completed in August 2003. Dolan also held financial management positions with Macmillan Publishing and Coopers & Lybrand. She is a graduate of Indiana University.

Morgan Stewart was hired as director of strategic services. Stewart is responsible for database and e-mail marketing strategy, testing, and segmentation and benchmarking analysis. Previously, Stewart served as director of strategic services for Conclusive Strategies, a marketing strategies and research company in Austin. His client base included Fortune 500 companies such as The Home Depot and Kraft Foods International. Stewart also served at direct marketing agencies Targetbase and Rapp Collins Worldwide, both in Texas. His responsibilities included managing the development of e-mail marketing programs for consumer brands including Pampers and The Iams Co.

CUMMINS INC.

Carl Ware, a retired Coca-Cola executive and a former Atlanta councilman, was elected to Cummins Inc.’s board of directors. Ware is the ninth member of the Cummins board.

He retired from the Coca-Cola Co. in 2003 after a career in which he served as the first president of the company’s Africa Group and as the executive vice president of public affairs and administration. He was the principal architect of Coca-Cola’s 1986 disinvestment from South Africa.
