The American Arab Chamber of Commerce (AACC), appointed Muhannad Haimour executive director.
Haimour is the former director of the Human Resources Department at ACCESS (the Arab Community Center for Economic & Social Services), a department he established to meet ACCESS’ growing needs in personnel recruitment, training and development. Prior to that, he worked as operations manager of the Employment & Training Department, one of the organization’s largest departments, with an operating budget of more than $1.7 million.
Haimour holds a bachelor of arts degree in public administration and English language and literature, is a recent graduate of Leadership Detroit Class 25 and a graduate of the Multicultural Immersion Program. Last June, he established Forum & Link, a bilingual biweekly publication celebrating Arab America.
“I am honored and delighted to have been selected for this position, and I look forward to the new challenge,” said Haimour. “I have followed the chamber’s progress for many years, and have been intimately involved in many of its projects. I hope to contribute to its continuing success and effectively develop the benefits and services provided to its members.”
ASTERAND
Martin Stefanelli was named president and chief operating officer at Asterand, a human tissue service provider.
Stefanelli comes to Asterand from Ameripath Inc., where he was executive vice president and COO, and led a team of more than 400 scientists and pathologists at more than 200 locations. He was also responsible for a sales and managed care staff of 110.
He previously held senior sales and operations positions during a 13-year tenure at Dianon Systems, an anatomic pathology services company.
DELPHI CORP.
The board of directors of Delphi Corp. named John D. Sheehan acting chief financial officer and a member of its strategy board. He retains the responsibilities of his former position as chief accounting officer and controller. Sheehan replaces Alan S. Dawes, who left the company in March.
In 2002, Sheehan joined Delphi from KPMG LLP, where he was a partner. His experience includes 20 years at KPMG LLP in assignments in the United States, England and Germany. He earned a BBA in accounting from St. Bonaventure University in St. Bonaventure, N.Y. He is a licensed CPA in Michigan and Connecticut, and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Sheehan also served as president of the board of directors for the International School of Stuttgart, Germany, from 1999 to 2001.
MASCO CORP.
Masco Corp. appointed Sharon Rothwell vice president, corporate affairs, and Melonie Colaianne president, Masco Corp. Foundation.
Rothwell becomes an officer at Masco and represents it in community and charitable activities, as well as government relations and civic activities. Prior to joining the corporation in 2003, Rothwell was chief of staff to Michigan Gov. John Engler. Rothwell holds a master of public administration degree and a bachelor of arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
As president of Masco’s Foundation, Colaianne leads Masco’s charitable initiatives while continuing her responsibilities as director of corporate affairs, including oversight for Masco’s corporatewide travel and meeting service programs. Colaianne joined Masco in 1998 from her position as vice president and corporate secretary for Cranbrook Educational Community. She holds a master of business administration degree and a bachelor of business administration degree from Eastern Michigan University.
HAYES LEMMERZ
Hayes Lemmerz International Inc. appointed Pieter Klinkers vice president of sales and marketing for its International Wheel Group. Pieter replaces Marc Hendrickx who was appointed vice president of the International Wheel Group’s Aluminum Operations.
Klinkers joined Hayes Lemmerz from Michelin’s Wheel Group, where he began working in 1997. He served in a series of senior-level marketing and sales positions with Michelin, most recently as director of sales and marketing, based in Paris.
Fluent in Dutch, English, German and French, Klinkers holds a master’s degreein business administration from Maastricht University in the Netherlands.
ASSOCIATION OF DIRECTORY PUBLISHERS
Bonnie Pintozzi was appointed chief operating officer of the Association of Directory Publishers (ADP), a trade association representing independent directory publishers in the U.S.
Pintozzi supervises the association’s day-to-day activities, focusing on her primary objective — to uphold the highest level of quality service and responsiveness to ADP members. Working closely with ADP’s president and CEO, she oversees accounting and finance, conventions and member services, communications and marketing, data management, Internet presence and IT personnel.
