Vinney named chairman of Team Northeast Ohio

The board of directors of Team Northeast Ohio named Les C. Vinney acting chairman. The former chairman of Team NEO, H. Peter Burg, chairman and CEO of FirstEnergy Corp., passed away Jan. 13, 2004.

“We are grateful that Les has agreed to be acting chair of Team NEO during this first full year of the organization’s implementation,” says Bob Farley, president of Team NEO. “He brings a strategic focus and entrepreneurial spirit that will help Team NEO make a difference in Northeast Ohio.”

Vinney is president and CEO of STERIS Corp. and a member of its board of directors. Founded in 1987, STERIS develops, manufactures and markets infection prevention, contamination prevention, microbial reduction and surgical support systems, products, services, and technologies for health care, scientific, research, industrial and government customers worldwide.

Vinney joined STERIS in August 1999 as senior vice president and chief financial officer. He became senior vice president, finance and operations, in October 1999. In March 2000, he was elected president and chief operating officer and a member of STERIS’s board of directors. He was named president and CEO in July 2000.

Prior to joining STERIS, Vinney served as senior vice president and CFO at The BFGoodrich Co. He joined BFGoodrich in 1991 as vice president of finance, specialty polymers and chemicals division. Subsequently, he became vice president of the company and group president, sealants, coatings, and adhesives. He was named vice president and treasurer in 1997 and senior vice president and CFO in 1998.

Lincoln Electric Holdings Inc.

Vincent K. Petrella was elected CFO of Lincoln Electric Holdings Inc. He succeeds H. Jay Elliott, who will retire March 31. Petrella joined Lincoln in 1995 as manager of internal audit and was responsible for the development and organization of the company’s internal audit function. He was named corporate controller in 1997 and elected an officer of the company in 2001. Prior to joining Lincoln, Petrella spent 13 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Industrial Transport Inc.

Industrial Transport Inc., an on-site logistics provider of freight trailer switching, yard management and interplant shuttle services, appointed Mattie Harris executive vice president and chief operating officer. Harris is responsible for the daily operations, sales and marketing of the company’s 32 customer operations in seven states. Harris, previously vice president of corporate marketing for Roadway Corp., comes to ITI with 12 years of experience in new ventures and corporate marketing in the transportation arena.

Hexagram Inc.

Hexagram Inc., Cleveland-based specialists in energy information management systems, named Gary L. Moore CEO. Moore is responsible for all operations, from product development to sales and marketing, that involve Hexagram’s STAR brand systems, its flagship product line of fixed network automatic meter reading equipment. He previously served as a management services consultant in the medical device field.

Point to Point Communications

Point to Point Communications named Heather Evans to its management team. As director of architectural business, Evans heads up P2P’s growing stable of architectural clients, which includes Sherwin-Williams, La-Z-Boy and HomeSphere, a leading manufacturer of builder software and rebate management programs. Her primary responsibilities are to help guide the strategic direction of P2P’s roster of clients and to establish a deeper understanding of the architectural and home goods fields among all agency personnel.

Edward Howard & Co.

Edward Howard & Co. named Diana Lueptow and Barbara Paynter senior vice presidents. They are responsible for overseeing account teams and assisting clients in meeting business objectives, with Lueptow specializing in marketing communications, media relations, and turnaround and reorganization situations, and Paynter specializing in community relations, environmental issues and media relations.

Ratliff & Taylor Inc.

Kenneth M. Sachs joined Ratliffe & Taylor Inc. as senior vice president, consulting services. Sachs is responsible for providing client solutions for recruitment and selection, assessment, coaching and retention and career transition strategies. Client companies span all industry segments including manufacturing, financial services, health care, consumer products, retail, professional service firms and not-for-profit. He was previously regional managing director for Spherion Human Capital Consulting.

ColorMatrix Corp.

V. Gerry Corrigan was named chief operating officer at ColorMatrix Corp. Corrigan is responsible for all corporate operations in North America and will interface with operations at ColorMatrix facilities in Europe and South America. He was previously with PPG for 20 years, the last four spent in global technology of automotive finishes.
