Ronald J. Manse was elected managing partner of Bruner-Cox LLP. He will succeed John Finnucan, who will step down Jan. 1, 2004.

Richard Fedorovich, managing partner of Bober, Markey, Fedorovich & Co., received the 2003 Public Service Award from the Ohio Society of CPAs for outstanding contributions to the community.


Amador Gonzalez, Scott Lukens and John Van Auker were named principals at Hasenstab Architects Inc.

Viking Vineyards & Winery of Brimfield was honored with one silver and four bronze medals at the 2003 Ohio Wine Competition.

FirstMerit named Gene Gottfried senior vice president, manager of commercial banking; Paul J. Stark, senior vice president, director of loan review; Eric J. Thompson, vice president, loan review; and Stephen Baldini, vice president, commercial banking.

William Yates, a mortgage loan originator at Unizan Bank, was recognized as the Women’s Council of Realtors Affiliate Member of the Year for 2003. He is the first male recipient of the award. Chad Johnson was appointed corporate banker in Unizan’s Northern Region, and is responsible for developing the bank’s Tuscarawas corporate banking market.


Connie Bollin was appointed director of Akron General’s Cancer Center. She has been with the hospital since 1990.

Dr. Steven Radwany, medical director of Hospice and Palliative Services and chair of the ethics committee at Summa Health System, was appointed to the Ohio Compassionate Care Task Force by Gov. Bob Taft. He will serve on the panel until March 2005.

Massillon-based HomeTown Health Network joined The Health Plan of the Upper Ohio Valley, a nonprofit community-based health plan in St. Clairsville.

Richard Fuller received the 2003 Browarsky Award of Merit at the Doctors Hospital Annual Intern and Resident Convocation Ceremonies. He has been an active member of Doctors Hospital’s medical staff since 1972.


Peter T. Calhoon, a shareholder in Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs LLP, was elected vice president and president-elect of the Akron Bar Association.

Gary Koch joined Roetzel & Andress as governmental affairs director and will represent the legislative interests of the firm’s clients in Columbus and Washington, D.C.


Spectrum Surgical Instruments Corp. promoted Greg Jones to customer service supervisor. He is responsible for overseeing departmental human resource functions.

Waltco Truck Equipment Co. was honored with a NorTech Innovation Award for new features added to its ThermalPak with Voltage Guard power unit.

Roman Kovach was promoted to financial controller of the Baker McMillen Co.
