HEALTH CARE

Lori Potter and Loree Beeching were named branch managers at Cambridge Home Health Care’s Akron and Canton offices.

The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities announced that the Massillon Community Hospital Rehabilitation Unit was awarded a three-year accreditation for its comprehensive integrated inpatient rehabilitation program. Paul H. Holcomb Jr., M.D., was appointed to the hospital’s courtesy medical staff and granted privileges in cardiology. The hospital has also named Ramon Martinez chairman of its board of directors.

Dr. Joseph M. Kirk joined the Massillon Community Hospital Courtesy Medical Staff with privileges in anesthesiology.

Summa Health System received national recognition at the 2003 Aster Awards, dedicated to marketing excellence in the health care field. It received a Gold Award, two Silver Awards and a Merit Award.

Also at Summa, Barbara Brunt, manager of nursing education and staff development, was honored with the Excellence in the Role of the Professional Development Researcher Award by the National Nursing Staff Development Organization. And Dave Boyer, clinical staff pharmacist in critical care, received the Walter Frazier Award for sustained exemplary service in health system and community service.

The hospital also promoted Greg Killinger to assistant vice president of client services of Summa HealthCare Plan.
