Marty Hatfield, a senior account executive with public relations firm Lord, Sullivan & Yoder, was named Young PR Professional of the Year in a national competition sponsored by PRWeek magazine. Hatfield was among six finalists nationally and the only finalist from Ohio.

Neil Fiske was appointed CEO of Bath & Body Works, a part of Limited Brands. He is responsible for further defining the brand and brand strategy and raising the level and pace of innovation.

Rhett Huddle was named executive vice president of Prospect Bank. He has been a senior bank executive for the past 15 years. Linda L. Wentz joined Prospect Bank’s Worthington office as vice president. She has more than 30 years of banking experience.

GreenScapes Landscape Co. promoted Jeff Williams to operations manager. He will oversee both the construction and maintenance divisions of the company. BJ Haffele was promoted to maintenance account manager.

Robert C. Preston joined the Columbus office of Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs LLP as a partner in the health law practice group. His primary practice area includes assisting physician practices in areas of economic, human resources and employment law matters.

Urban Environments Inc. President Joel Korte was elected president of Franklin Park Conservatory’s board of trustees. Korte has served as a member of the board for four years.

LifeCare Alliance promoted Michelle Jones to the position of director of marketing and communications. She will oversee all efforts to publicize the work of this non-for-profit organization, which operates community-based health and nutrition programs such as Meals-on-Wheels.

Kelsey Apple, technology manager for IT services firm Babbage Simmel, was one of three Lotus instructors worldwide to earn the first annual Dr. James H. Adair Award for Instructor Excellence given by IBM. Winners were selected based on attributes such as demonstrating drive and enthusiasm for teaching and maintaining consistently high satisfaction ratings.

Accounting and consulting firm Crowe, Chizek and Co. LLP hired Bill Watts as a senior manager. He is responsible for leading the commercial services risk management group for Ohio.

Target Logistics Services acquired Cassady Air Transportation, a major freight forwarder and logistics provider based in Columbus. Target, headquartered in San Francisco, acquired the company because of its location — 60 percent of the U.S. population resides less than 24 hours from the city by truck.

Direct marketing firm Vincent Graphics has changed its name to Vincent Direct, which more accurately describes its service offerings. The company provides graphic design, printing, mailing, fulfillment and e-commerce services.

Commercial construction firm Elford Inc. was recognized by the Associated General Contractors with two awards in 2002, the 2002 Construction Safety Excellence Award and a Certificate of Commendation, for achieving an incidence rate of 25 percent below industry average.

The Columbus Coalition Against Family Violence announced the expansion of the its Business Community and Victim Services Task Forces with the addition of several community leaders. Gayle Brocksmith of Limited Brands, Nick Rees of Kroger and Sue Wilburn of Children’s Hospital joined the business community task force. Rick Carrick of United Way of Central Ohio, Kate Foulke of the Columbus Board of Health, Atiba Jones of Prevent Child Abuse Ohio at Children’s Hospital, Nelson Meyer of Lutheran Social Services and Lynne Stewart of Franklin County Children Services joined the victim services task force.
