She will be responsible for investor relations, the travel department and stockholder relations in addition to duties of her previous position, vice president of corporate communications.

Lutheran Social Services has named Merry Linn executive director for assisted living services. She oversees daily operations and ensures all state regulations are met. Susan Gardner has been named executive director for independent living services. She oversees the operations of Kensington Place and serves as marketing administrator for Lutheran Village.

Cimetric Commerce, formerly Ncom Group Inc., has hired Geoff Biehn as CFO, Scott Williams as director of human resources and Jack Grant as national sales manager. Herb Kahn, a former executive of Accuray and CompuServe, has been appointed to the Cimetric’s board of advisers.

Symix Systems Inc. has appointed Larry DeLeon, the company’s CFO, to lead the company’s efforts in the manufacturing arena as executive vice president of worldwide field operations. Daniel P. Buettin, former vice president and CFO of MPW Industrial Services Group Inc., has been hired as vice president and CFO and is an officer of the company.

The Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce has named Rhonda DeMuth, president of TDCI Consulting LLC, as the 2000 Greater Columbus Small Business Person of the Year. DeMuth was chosen by judges from a pool of five finalists, each evaluated on growth, financial stability, sales increases, response to adversity and contributions to the community. Through DeMuth’s leadership, annual revenues for TDCI have grown from $2 million to $8.5 million, staff size has increased from 27 to 60, and the number of the company’s customers has increased from 50 to 230 in the past three years. The other finalists for the award were David C. Bianconi of Progressive Medical Inc., Paul G. Bordner of Bordner & Associates and Laser Reproductions, Timothy R. Foley of M-E Companies Inc. and Curtis Jewell of EXCEL Management Systems Inc.

Fifth Third Bank has promoted Jeffrey Hastings to vice president in corporate banking. Jay Shaw has joined the company as a vice president and will be managing the commercial real estate lending department and consulting with customers, builders and developers on business banking services.

Giant Eagle has named Dave Daniel as vice president of operations in the Columbus market. Daniel will oversee the six Columbus stores and has been appointed to the board of trustees of the Ohio Grocer’s Association.
