Jo Ann Davidson has been selected the Columbus Board of Realtors 2002 Citizen of the Year in recognition of her long-time commitment of service to the Central Ohio community. She has served 10 terms as a member of the Ohio House of Representatives and serves on the board of directors of the University of Findlay, Franklin University and the John Glenn Institute of The Ohio State University.
Griffin Communications received an Award of Excellence from the Communicator Awards. Griffin was recognized for its strategic marketing communications plan for SWACO (Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio) in 2001. It also received two awards of distinction and one honorable mention.
Rickenbacker International Airport and Southern California Logistics Airport have joined forces to form the Global Access Network, an aviation services system supporting domestic and global air cargo needs. The Global Access Network offers around-the-clock operations with on-site U.S. Customs and General Purpose Foreign Trade Zones.
Thompson Building Associates was named to Remodeling magazine’s 2002 BIG 50 list, a group of outstanding members of the remodeling industry chosen for their excellence in the business. Remodeling, a trade publication for the remodeling industry, is delivered to 80,000 professional remodelers.
Ohio Dominican College hired Richard E. Farmer as executive vice president and James E. Fitzpatrick as vice president for student development. The appointments are part of the college’s expansion and improvement plan. Fitzpatrick was formerly dean of student affairs at Pennsylvania College of Technology and Farmer was associate vice president for academic affairs and dean of continuing education at St. Leo University in Florida.
Robert Gray Palmer has become a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. Palmer is a partner in the law firm Palmer Volkema and Thomas and an alumnus of Washington University School of Law.
Secure Interiors added Steven Mogul to its executive team. Mogul is vice president of sales responsible for overseeing and implementing sales strategies. Ron Kellogg, formerly vice president of sales and marketing, was appointed vice president of business development.
Fifth Third Bank was ranked No. 283 in Fortune‘s ranking of the top 500 U.S. corporations, up from No. 393 in 2001 and No. 436 in 2000.
Thomas C. Westfall was elected to the board of directors of The Arlington Bank. Westfall is president and CEO of the bank. Under his leadership, the bank has grown to more than $100 million in assets since opening in March 1999.
Key Bank received high rankings for its e-commerce business by Gomez.com, a leading e-commerce rating service. Gomez places Key among the top five Internet banks in the nation. It received high rankings in categories including ease of use, customer confidence and relationship services.
