Morphotek names Radie CBO

Morphotek named Robert Radie chief business officer.

“Bob brings a breadth of knowledge, energy and leadership to the company that will facilitate development of our technology and products for value creation. His keen understanding of product development and pharmaceutical sales (helps) the company execute its goals in establishing alliances with appropriate partners who are capable of helping us advance our compounds from the clinic to the market as well as sign additional technology alliances.”

Radie has more than 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. Most recently, he was senior vice president of strategic projects and planning at Vicuron Pharmaceuticals, where he was responsible for corporate strategy and business development. He played an integral role in the recently completed Pfizer acquisition of Vicuron Pharmaceuticals.

Before joining Vicuron, Radie held a broad range of positions at Eli Lilly and Co. During his time at Lilly, he was in charge of several different sales forces and product launches, including the deployment of Lilly’s critical care sales organization. He played a significant role in the launch and sales of many of Lilly’s flagship products including Prozac, Zyprexa and Actos. He holds a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from Boston College.

MORPHOTEK
Morphotek also promoted Dr. Luigi Grasso to senior vice president of research and development.

Grasso has more than 10 years of experience in biopharmaceutical research and development. He co-founded Morphotek and has been vice president of research since its inception. He received his Ph.D. in pathology from the University of Catania, Italy, and held various research and development positions within the biopharmaceutical industry throughout his career.

Expensewatch.com appointed Bill Vergantino to executive vice president of operations. He is responsible for developing and growing Expensewatch.com’s worldwide sales efforts, including direct and indirect sales, customer implementation and support, and the development and execution of corporate partner strategies.

Prior to this appointment, Vergantino was vice president of global sales for Relicore where he oversaw all sales channels and professional service personnel. Before that, he led the sales organization for Data Integration product line worldwide at Business Objects.

PHILADELPHIA AWARD
President and CEO of the Center City District (CCD) Paul R. Levy was named winner of the 2005 Philadelphia Award. The award is presented annually to a citizen of the region who has done the most to advance the best interest of the community.

Levy was the founding executive director of CCD and has held the organization since 1991. He planned, received approval for and now directs the $14 million downtown management district.

“I am extraordinarily honored to receive this award and accept it on behalf of 100 uniformed staff of the CCD who have worked each day since 1991 to make Center City clean, safe and attractive,” says Levy.

MET-PRO CORP.
Met-Pro Corp. named James G. Board and Paul Tetley executive vice presidents.

Board has been vice president and general manager of the company’s Dean Pump and Fybroc divisions since 2000. In February 2006, he assumed responsibilities for the management of the company’s Sethco division, giving him worldwide responsibilities for all Met-Pro pump divisions.

Tetley has been vice president and general manager of Met-Pro’s Strobic Air Corp. since 1999. He has now assumed the additional responsibilities of overseeing a platform consisting of the company’s Duall division, Flex-Kleen division, Strobic Air Corp., System division and International Sales division.

DRINKER BIDDLE & REATH
The law firm of Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP named Kenneth A. Murphy partner. In this new position he will focus his practice on product liability and mass torts in the litigation department.

Murphy came to Drinker Biddle from Saul Ewing LLP, where he was a shareholder in the commercial litigation practice group and co-chair of the firm’s diversity committee. Murphy earned his B.A. from Duke University in 1986 and his J.D. from Duke University in 1989.

Joyce Bradely
was promoted from vice president and principal of Kelleher Associates Inc. to senior vice president and principal. In addition to developing and delivering outplacement and executive coaching services, she also has the responsibility of developing strategic alliances crucial to the continued expansion of the firm.

Bradley is a certified senior human resources executive with more than 20 years of progressive human resources, sales and marketing, and leadership experience. Prior to working for Kelleher Associates, Bradely was senior vice president for Manchester Inc.
