Enough about us; now about us …
I must share with you how disappointed I am with our story you published today (“Natural Born Survivors,” February SBN) Card Pak Inc. is a company that has clearly weathered many unfortunate circumstances. We were eager to put the past behind us and share with other businesses [strategies]that would be both helpful and motivational.
Specifically we discussed issues such as having in place adequate insurance coverage, exit strategies and disaster contingency plans, to name a few. I was very specific that while we had to settle a lawsuit (as a result of the fire) concerning ownership, I did not want the lawsuit to be mentioned in the article. Not only was it mentioned, it was highlighted.
Rick and I and the employees of Card Pak Inc. have worked very hard to rebuild this business and are proud to be standing here today.
We are not interested in portraying others in a negative sense, but rather to excel on our own merit. It is a shame that we as a group cannot feel good about this story. You completely missed the essence of what we wanted to convey.

Just doing our job, thank you
I wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your publication. The latest issue, February, was indeed terrific, and I particularly enjoyed Dustin Klein’s stories on Card Pak (“Natural born survivors”) and Corsa Performance (“Reinventing the wheel”).
The article by John Ettorre on Tom Roulston III (“Casting his own shadow”) was particularly good—a wonderful piece of reporting that was quite interesting and well researched.
Thanks for publishing an excellent magazine that covers a segment of our business community that no one else covers. I consider your publication must reading for anyone involved in the Cleveland business community.

A very belated, yet sincere, “thanks” to everyone at SBN and Medical Mutual of Ohio for our Pillar Award. It was an honor to be an award recipient in the Pillar’s inaugural year and also be included with such respected and notable companies from Northeast Ohio.
It was also a great way for us to kick off our 15th anniversary year, and we’ve included a story about the award in our agency newsletter.
By way of this letter, I also want to commend Medical Mutual of Ohio and your other sponsors for their contributions to your efforts. It’s companies like them and SBN that make it a privilege and honor for us to work in Northeast Ohio.
Our Pillar award now stands in a place of honor in our reception area. Thank you again for the award and the opportunity for out people to be recognized for their efforts. I encourage you to keep up your good work and hope you will call on me for help in any way regarding next year’s Pillar award.
