Joffe named interim CEO, LCA-Vision

LCA-Vision Inc. appointed Craig P.R. Joffe interim CEO. He previously worked as the company’s chief operating officer, and he succeeds his father, Stephen N. Joffe.

Joffe joined the company in 2003 as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary. He was promoted to COO in 2005, while retaining his general counsel and secretary responsibilities. In that position, he oversaw and directed the operations of the company’s LasikPlus vision centers, as well as the company’s legal affairs, risk management and human resources departments, including the recruitment of medical professionals.

Prior to joining LCA-Vision, he worked as assistant general counsel at InterActiveCorp, a leading publicly traded interactive commerce company, from 2000 to 2003. Prior to his experience at InterActiveCorp, he was a general practice associate in the New York and London officers of the law firm Sullivan & Cromwell for more than three years, where he concentrated his practice on corporate finance transactions.

He graduated from Harvard Law School and also serves on the LCA-Vision’s board of directors.

THOMPSON HINE LLP
Michael R. Oestreicher
was selected as a member of President George W. Bush’s Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations (ACTPN).

Oestreicher is a corporate partner at Thompson Hine LLP and member of the firm’s executive committee. He will remain with the firm as he serves his two-year term with ACTPN.

CLOVERNOOK CENTER FOR THE BLIND AND VISUALLY IMPAIRED
Clovernook Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired hired Doug Jacques as vice president of business operations. In his new role he is responsible for Memphis and Cincinnati production, Braille, contract manufacturing, quality assurance at all sites, sales and product customer service.

Most recently, he held leadership roles with Atkins and Pearce of Covington, Ky. He earned a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Valparaiso University.

NATIONAL CITY
National City appointed Michael Ortiz small business banking officer for the branches in Norwood, Clifton, Carrousel, Hartwell and Walnut Hills.

He is responsible for managing and developing relationships with the small businesses in these areas. He previously worked at Branch Banking and Trust Co. in Newport News, Va. He is active in the community, serving as a member of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Greater Cincinnati and the National Society of Hispanic MBAs.

Also at National City, Tricia K. Moore was named vice president and small business banking officer for the branch at 5535 Glenway Ave.

She is responsible for managing, maintaining and growing small business client relationships by working with six banking centers on the West side of Cincinnati. She previously worked as business banking officer at Fifth Third Bank and U.S. Bank.

In another move at National City, Gregory J. Gibbons was promoted to senior vice president of corporate banking.

He is responsible for new business development and portfolio management for upper-middle-market corporate banking customers. He started his career with Provident Bank in 1993 and has spent the last 13 years working in corporate banking. He also serves on the board of directors for Kids Helping Kids.

ADVANCE FINISHING & DISPLAY CORP.
Ross Swigert
was appointed president and partner of Advance Finishing & Display.

He has worked for the company for nine years, previously as vice president of sales and marketing. He has also worked for Gibson Greeting Cards, The Hennegan Co., the Printing Service Co. and the Dyment Co.

CINCINNATI PUBLIC RADIO

Michael Newman was appointed to the community board of Cincinnati Public Radio.

He is an attorney at Dinsmore & Shohl LLP, where he practices labor and employment law in the state and federal courts.

MJ Gilhooley
has relocated her firm, Gilhooley Consulting Inc. from Los Angeles to Cincinnati.

Originally from Ohio, she spent the last 23 years in Los Angeles. The agency provides editorial content to thousands of trade and consumer outlets ranging from small community news to CNN International.

Tim Blankenhorn
was promoted to business banking team leader at Huntington Bank.

He previously worked as vice president. He joined the company in 2001 and has more than 19 years of experience in the financial industry. He earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Indiana University and a graduate degree in banking from the University of Wisconsin.
