Henkel Corp.
When it comes to window installation, the headaches typically associated with this
process may be a thing of the past. The team at Henkel Corp., a global leader in adhesives, sealants, home care and personal care markets, saw an opportunity and chose
to capitalize on it. With 10,000 mold and mildew claims pending through 2004 and the
cost of an average claim between $10,000 and $100,000, it knew that moisture and air
protection around windows was a major problem, and a major contributor to that
problem was there was no one system of compatible parts for installing windows —
everything was sold separately. With that, Henkel created WINTeQ, the first complete
window installation system certified by the American Architectural Manufacturers
Association. This system has provided much-needed innovation to the industry, and
on top of that, Henkel created a professional training program with WINTeQ certification for installers. This establishes the company as an innovation leader and is sure
to be a factor in sales as the system and training program develop.

LogiSync LLC
With the rising concern for environmental initiatives in this country, LogiSync LLC
is doing its part to help the green cause. Traditionally, restroom water control has
been done manually or automatically using infrared sensors of water valves in sinks,
water closets and urinals. These typically operate on their own without communication or interaction with other valves. As a result, when maintenance issues arise, the
problems have to be identified by a physical inspection, which often leads to wasted
water from valves that leak, run-on, flood or have flow failure, among other housekeeping issues. Seeing this problem, the LogiSync team, led by President Edward J.
Yenni, partnered with Sloan Valve Co. and created the Sloan Monitoring System. This
advanced monitoring system uses existing plumbing and electric infrastructure to
operate and remotely monitor the plumbing and provides remote control of the
devices. The system provides a solid innovation to the industry and allows restrooms
to be managed as part of the building’s existing automation system.
