Behind the commitment to growth at Cambridge Home Health Care is the simple fact that the more successful the company, the more people it can serve.
Every week, employees of Cambridge Home Health Care enter the homes of more than 3,000 people, providing one-on-one nursing care, personal care, homemaking and companionship. That number continues to grow as Cambridge Home Health Care expands its services and locations.
Nancy Diller-Shively, chairman, founded the company in 1994 and has taken it to new heights in recent years. In the last four years, the company has increased sales by $12.1 million and, more impressively, has added 647 employees. Those jobs have contributed to the economy in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Since 2005, Cambridge Home Health Care added 13 offices, growing to 35. That expansion included venturing into Pennsylvania, where Cambridge Home Health Care now has three offices.
The company has won 11 Cascade Capital Corp. Growth Awards since its founding and plans to maintain momentum.
Cambridge Home Health Care plans to increase and develop Medicare services. Diller-Shively knows staffing has a great deal to do with providing great service, and the office staff is provided extensive training in customer service in order to meet the high clinical standards of patient care the company is held to by its quality improvement department. In addition to training, Diller-Shively and her leadership team empower and recognize their staff of more than 1,800 with ongoing programs and awards.
For example, the PERC Award is given to six people quarterly. It recognizes both office and field staff who are nominated by co-workers for their positive attitude. The half-dozen chosen employees receive a certificate and $100.
Every year, nurses and aides from each branch are selected for excellence in patient care. The persons of the year are honored with a special luncheon, presented a plaque and $100. Additionally, one person from each discipline is chosen as the companywide registered nurse, licensed practical nurse and home health aide of the year and given $250.
In efforts to help employees advance their careers, Cambridge Home Health Care provides nursing school scholarships to two employees and two members of the community annually.
