ARCHITECTURE/CONSTRUCTION

Burns & Scalo Roofing Co. secured roofing contracts for the Lincoln-Larimer Community Service Center; Filene’s in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Castle Ridge Apartments; and Kaufmann’s at Beaver Valley Mall.

Repal Construction Co. was awarded the contract for construction of the Devlin Funeral Home in Cranberry Township. The company also received a contract at Kooser State Park in Somerset to construct two shower houses, a sanitary sewer system with holding tanks and other utility connections. The company was also awarded a contract by Westmoreland County Industrial Development Corp. for renovations at the Lenox Reuse Industrial Development Project.

Kaufmann’s is opening a 140,000-square-foot, two-level department store at The Waterfront. A fall 2003 opening is anticipated.

PWCampbell was awarded the design/build contract by State Employees Federal Credit Union (SEFCU) in Albany, N.Y. PWCampbell and SEFCU will be partners in the planning, design and construction of the operations center.

Devlin Design, a Downtown architectural firm, and Indigo, a Sewickley facilities planning and design firm, are merging operations. The new firm will be called Devlin Indigo Architecture.

WTW Architects is designing the renovation of the Stephen Foster Memorial on the University of Pittsburgh campus. The $2.3 million project will be completed early next year.

CONSULTING

The Todd Organization of Pittsburgh, an executive and employee benefits consulting firm, merged with Elliot Dinkin & Associates to form TBG Consulting, a firm specializing in compensation and employee benefits.

FINANCIAL SERVICES

Brink’s Inc. will expand operations in Allegheny County, creating 29 new jobs. Brink’s has signed a 10-year lease on a 27,000-square-foot property in the Vista Industrial Park in Robinson Township. The expanded facility, which is more than three times the size of the company’s current one, will enable its new coin operations and money room functions to be performed locally and serve parts of Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia.

S&T Bank opened its newest Wealth Management Group office at One Gateway Center. The office offers a full range of services, including investment management, brokerage products and services, estate planning, employee benefits management, and financial/retirement planning for individuals and corporations.

Commercial National Bank completed the sale of its Murrysville office to Standard Bank.

LAW

Dapper, Baldasare, Benson & Kane established offices in Pittsburgh. The firm’s principals are Robert E. Dapper, Jr., Lawrence J. Baldasare, Stuart W. Benson III and Brian S. Kane. The firm, located in Three Gateway Center, concentrates in employment, workers’ compensation, insurance and general commercial litigation.

Veteran NFL player agent and attorney Ralph Cindrich of Cindrich & Co. entered into a joint venture with Cowboy Sports Agents of Oklahoma City.

PUBLIC RELATIONS/ADVERTISING

Elias/Savion Advertising Inc. was named agency of record for the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership. The firm was selected to develop a corporate identity campaign and create marketing collateral and promotional materials for the organization’s special events. Alcoa Building Products Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Alcoa Inc., has awarded its advertising account to Elias/Savion.

Innis Maggiore Group of Canton, Ohio, has acquired Beswick Communications Inc., a Pittsburgh-based public relations and marketing consultant.

Jack Horner Communications Inc. is providing public relations and marketing communications services for new clients CANAC Inc., a Pittsburgh company manufacturing state-of-the-art remote control technology; Littlearth, designer of fashion accessories and gifts created using recycled and recyclable materials; Opus, a Mediterranean restaurant in the Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel; and eggs, an e-commerce minority procurement system

RETAIL

Shop ‘n Save has launched the S&H green points Visa credit card that allows customers to earn green points online and at other local retailers. The card, which functions as a conventional credit card, comes through a card-issuing partnership with Columbus Bank and Trust Co. of Columbus, Ga.
