Myers Industries of Akron has purchased the assets and operations of the Dillen Products Companies of Middlefield. Dillen is a distributor and manufacturer of plastic horticultural containers, with sales of about $40 million. Myers is a global manufacturer of polymer and metal products for the industrial, agricultural and automotive markets.

R&R International of Akron was awarded a $2.4 million contract by Dick Corp./Barton Malow, a joint venture design and construction manager, to construct the foundation for the new Pittsburgh Pirates stadium. The project began in May, and is expected to be completed by the end of this month.

Akhia Public Relations has expanded and moved to Georgetown Road in Hudson. The new office space is three times the size of the firm’s last location, also in Hudson.

Balint and Associates of Cuyahoga Falls is celebrating its 25th anniversary. The company develops customer accounting software and is a distributor of business forms. When it was founded in 1974, the company sold a line of computers with 5 MB to 20 MB disk space for only $20,000.

Second National Bank has opened a new office in Twinsburg.

Stalker Advertising & Public Relations of Fairlawn has been named a national finalist in the 1999 Silver Microphone Awards. The competition is open to more than 40,000 ad agencies in the United States. The winning ad was created for Magic Wok restaurants.
