The board of directors of Technology Solutions Co. named Carl F. Dill Jr. acting CEO.
He replaces Michael R. Gorsage, who resigned to pursue other business interests.
Dill will help the company further focus its business strategy as a foundation for the board to determine a course of action regarding the future CEO.
“Given his firsthand knowledge of Technology Solutions Co. from his service to the board and his considerable experience in the information technology industry, Carl brings an added dimension to the leadership of this company,” says John R. Purcell, chairman of the governance committee of TSC’s board. “We will benefit greatly from his experience in helping companies reach their next stage of growth.”
Dill has been a director of TSC since 2001 and has worked as lead director since May. He has served as a strategic adviser to a number of high-tech and consulting businesses since 2001. He also serves as a director of ThoughtWorks Inc. and as an advisory board member for Arxan Technologies Inc.
Prior to joining TSC, he worked as vice president and chief information officer of Time Warner Inc. from 1998 to 2001 and as senior vice president and chief information officer for McDonald’s Corp. from 1982 to 1998.
TRANSPORTATION SECURITY ADMINISTRATION
The Transportation Security Administration named Mark Haught as the federal security director at O’Hare International Airport. Haught oversees all of the airports in Illinois.
Haught has been acting FSD for six months. Prior to that, he was deputy assistant director for the Naval Criminal Investigative Service in Washington, D.C.
RYERSON TULL INC.
The board of directors of Ryerson Tull Inc. appointed Dennis J. Keller to the company’s board.
Keller is director of Nicor Inc. He also serves in leadership capacities on the boards of DeVry Inc., DeVry University Inc. and the African Wildlife Foundation. He is vice chairman of the Chicago Zoological Society at Brookfield Zoo and a member of the boards of trustees of the University of Chicago, Princeton University and the Mpala Wildlife Foundation.
THE RADIATE GROUP
The Radiate Group appointed Marc A. Bushala group president.
Bushala previously worked as managing director of Europe and global director of acquisitions and strategic alliances. Before joining The Radiate Group, he was founder and CEO of Atomic Entertainment and United Entertainment Co.
He brings more than 15 years of experience working internationally with skills in strategy, marketing and sales, and mergers and acquisitions.
VITA FOOD PRODUCTS INC.
Vita Food Products Inc. has added Scott W. Levitt and Glenn S. Morris to its board of directors.
Levitt is an executive in the accounting field with more than 29 years of industry experience. His career includes 22 years in public accounting, most recently with BDO Seidman LLP. Since 1998, he has worked as vice president of finance and chief financial officer of Czarnowski Display Service Inc.
Morris has been chairman and CEO of American General Holdings Inc. since 1995. He has served as general partner of General American Equities and as president of Morris Securities Ltd. since 1977. He has also been president of M&C Investments Inc. since 1996.
NORTHERN TRUST
Northern Trust promoted Katherine Ellis Nixon to chief investment officer, Northeast region.
Prior to joining the company in 2004, Nixon worked for U.S. Trust Co. in New York as senior portfolio manager and managing director.
SUN-TIMES NEWS GROUP
Michael Cooke has rejoined the Sun-Times News Group as vice president, editorial.
Cooke previously worked as editor-in-chief of the New York Daily News. Before that he was editor-in-chief of the Chicago Sun-Times from 2000 to 2005.
Also at the Sun-Times News Group, Frederic R. Lebolt was named vice president, new media. He co-founded the suntimes.com news Web site in 1995. He previously worked as president of the company’s South division.
HEARTLAND PARTNERS LP
Heartland Partners LP promoted Charles J. Harrison to senior vice president.
Harrison joined the company in 1990 and has held positions including vice president, general counsel and associate general counsel. He has served as a member of the company’s executive team since 2002.
HOY
Hoy has appointed Anne Kelly vice president of advertising sales. She has 15 years of experience in newspaper advertising sales with local and major account experience. She was previously director of major accounts for the Chicago Tribune.
Also at Hoy, Mike Odegaard was promoted to vice president of circulation. He joined the Tribune Co. in 1989 and has served in various circulation roles. His last two assignments were director of circulation for Hoy’s Chicago edition and national circulation manager for the Chicago Tribune.
BANK OF AMERICA
Bank of America named John Brennan Chicago and Illinois president.
He also serves as Central region president for The Private Bank, part of the company’s global wealth and investment management division.
Brennan is on the boards of the Shedd Aquarium, the Chicago Public Library Foundation, the Lyric Opera of Chicago and WTTW Television.
