John L. Carter was hired as president of Nationwide Financial Distributors Inc. following the retirement of Richard A. Karas.
Carter joins Nationwide from Prudential Investments Platform Distribution, where he was executive vice president. He also will serve as senior vice president of nonaffiliated sales for Nationwide Financial.
In his new role, Carter will lead a broad wholesale distribution force that works with financial institutions, independent broker dealers, regional firms and wirehouses. He is responsible for managing relationships with major accounts for Nationwide Financial’s products and services.
He also will establish consistent sales processes and a common sales operation infrastructure across distribution channels and business segments.
Carter, who has been with Prudential Financial since 1999, was responsible for managed accounts distribution through all channels and oversaw sales of Prudential mutual funds, variable annuities and managed accounts through Prudential’s financial advisers, agents and third-party financial professionals.
Carter began his career with Paine Webber in 1985 as an investment executive, moved to Fahnestock & Co. in 1989 in institutional sales and served as a national consultant for Corporate Network Brokerage Service, all in the Kansas City area. He joined Kidder Peabody Asset Management in 1992 as vice president of sales and became divisional sales vice president for Paine Webber Investment Consulting in 1995 after its purchase of Kidder.
Carter earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration/finance from the University of Missouri.
COMMERCIAL VEHICLE GROUP
Patrick Miller joined Commercial Vehicle Group as vice president and general manager of the recently created CVG Structures Division.
Prior to joining CVG, Miller was vice president of sales and engineering for the North American Wheel Group, a division of Hayes Lemmerz International. Additionally, he served as vice president and general manager of Alcoa Automotive Products.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from Harvard University Graduate School of Business.

Jack Petro was promoted to chief technology officer of Applied Innovation Inc. Petro was previously vice president of engineering.
He joined Applied Innovation in 2002 as vice president of engineering. He has more than 20 years of experience designing and developing hardware and software solutions for the telecommunications industry. Before joining Applied Innovation, Petro was vice president of engineering and technology with Bonita Software.
NETJETS AVIATION
NetJets Aviation appointed Rosa Doria to the newly created position of vice president, labor relations.
Doria joins NetJets from American Airlines, where she was managing director, employee relations.
She has more than 20 years experience in the aviation industry and organized labor environment, including as vice president for employee relations at American Eagle; director, labor relations and administration at Midway Airlines; and director, flight operations administration at Business Express Airlines.
NATIONWIDE FINANCIAL DISTRIBUTORS INC.
Nationwide Financial Distributors Inc. promoted Timothy Frommeyer to senior vice president and chief financial officer.
Frommeyer was previously vice president and chief actuary. He began his career with Nationwide Financial in 1986 and rose through positions of increasing responsibility.
Frommeyer earned a degree in mathematics from Xavier University.

Kent Irwin has joined Waller Financial Planning Group as associate vice president, financial planner.
Irwin brings more than 20 years of experience to the company. He most recently worked as an advanced sales consultant for Nationwide Financial Services.

George Klepec was promoted to officer of the Delaware County Bank & Trust Co.
Klepec earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Youngstown State University and has been with the bank for more than three years.

James McCullars joined Mills James Productions as director of photography in the teleproduction services group.
McCullars has more than 20 years of experience in the industry and has worked with clients such as The Limited, Victoria’s Secret, SBC Advertising and Safe Auto.

The Ohio Business Week Foundation membership elected Kevin Mosby to its managing board of trustees.
Mosby works for State Farm Insurance as director of diversity for the Mid-America zone, which includes Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee.
RIGHT AT HOME
Chris Baumgardner, owner of the Right at Home office, was a delegate for the 2005 White House Conference on Aging.
The conference is hosted by the White House every 10 years to develop recommendations for research and action in the field of aging. Baumgardner was one of 1,200 delegates selected to vote on resolutions and develop implementation strategies that will be presented to President Bush and Congress to help guide national aging policies for the next decade.
FIFTH THIRD BANK
Fifth Third Bank promoted Jodi Huck to assistant vice president and regional risk manager for the Community Bank Region, which includes 16 banking centers.
Huck earned her degree from Ohio Wesleyan University and has been with the bank since 2001.

Sequent named Jim Torrence vice president/director of human resource management systems.
Torrence joins Sequent as a result of the firm’s acquisition of Crow Chizek’s Human Resource Information System business entity. He brings nearly 20 years of experience in information technology, management and client relations to his new position.
Also at Sequent, Beth Thomas was named vice president of organizational development and learning solutions.
Thomas has more than 20 years of experience guiding organizations through major transformations, such as mergers and acquisitions and organizational change.
