Interactive Intelligence Inc. Inc. hired Joseph A. Staples as senior vice president of worldwide marketing. Staples will manage a global marketing team and be responsible for product marketing, corporate marketing, public relations, channel programs and advertising.

Staples brings 24 years of experience in technology and marketing to Interactive Intelligence, including in the areas of computer telephony, unified messaging, mobile wireless, computer networking and computer-based education.

“As a newly formed role for us, we’re especially excited about what Joe can offer based on his successful track record with technology firms such as Captaris and Novell,” says Interactive Intelligence President and CEO Dr. Donald E. Brown. “With his leadership, we’ve already set in motion some very aggressive plans designed to better define and promote the Interactive Intelligence brand and execute on new and inventive ways to reach more prospective customers.”

Previously, Staples was principal and owner of FirstLight Marketing, a private marketing consulting firm based in Salt Lake City. For the six prior years, he was executive vice president of corporate marketing at Captaris Inc., a provider of business communication solutions. There, he contributed at an executive level to the company’s growth from revenue of $36 million in 1995 to more than $130 million.

Previously, Staples was vice president of marketing for Callware Technologies Inc., a provider of unified messaging software. Prior to that, he spent five years with networking leader Novell Inc., where his management duties included leading the company’s initiatives in the computer telephony market.

Daniel Yates, a partner with law firm Bose McKinney & Evans LLP, was elected to the Indianapolis Zoo advisory board.

Since opening in 1964, the Indianapolis Zoo has grown into a world-class facility hosting a million visitors each year and playing a major role in worldwide conservation and research.

Yates is admitted to practice in all Indiana courts, U.S. Federal District Court Southern Division, 7th Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Tax Court. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Indiana State Bar Association and the Indianapolis Bar Association.

Yates is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and member of the Estate Planning Council of Indianapolis, National Committee on Planned Giving, Planned Giving Council of Indianapolis and Phi Alpha Delta. He is a member of the boards of the Eiteljorg Museum, St. Vincent Foundation, Central Indiana Community Foundation and Legacy Fund.

MINDGENT

Bart Wagoner was named managing principal of MindGent’s managed service business line, which manages technology support solutions by providing products such as managed help desk service, managed deployment service and its proprietary RISCOVERY – Disaster Recovery service.

A Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, Wagoner has extensive experience in networking implementation and support. Throughout his career, he has led engineering teams to install, upgrade and support network and messaging systems for hospitals, banks and the military.

“Bart is extremely adept at developing creative solutions to solve project challenges,” says Pat Lockwood, CEO of MindGent. “He provides the organization and leadership to ensure client objectives are achieved, deadlines are met and budgets heeded.”

Wagoner holds MCSE and Cisco certifications.

LAUTH PROPERTY GROUP

Spencer Jones joined Lauth Property Group as a senior project manager, construction operations. He is responsible for construction operations and related activities for Lauth health care projects.

Jones has more than 24 years of construction experience, including project management, engineering design and senior management roles. Prior to joining Lauth, he was a senior management team member for J.E. Dunn Construction Co., where he managed the Sprint World Headquarters project, a multimillion dollar campus on 200 acres. In total, Jones has held direct management responsibility for more than 4.6 million square feet of construction, of which 1.1 million square feet were for health care projects.

Jones is active in the industry as a member of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering and a Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design accredited professional. He is also a licensed professional engineer in Texas.
