The Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce named Linda Barness, president of Barness Organization, its Small Business Person of the Year. Barness is a third-generation leader of the 78-year-old home building company. She is a director for Pennsylvanians for Effective Government, on the advisory board of the University of Pennsylvania Cancer Center and an honorary board member of Gilda’s Club of Bucks/Montgomery Counties.
She has served on the boards of trustees of the University of Pennsylvania, Abington Memorial Hospital, Bucks County Community College and Please Touch Museum. She became a member of the Homebuilders Association of Bucks and Montgomery Counties in 1989, and she supports nonprofits such as The Patron’s Foundation, A Woman’s Place and Gilda’s Club.
Barness’ awards include the 1999 Salute to Montgomery County Women of Achievement from the March of Dimes; the 1999 Women of Distinction from the Philadelphia Business Journal, the Forum of Executive Women and the National Association of Women Business Owners; the 2001 Women Making History in the Delaware Valley from the National Association of Women Business Owners; and the 2001 Business Achievement Award (Lifetime Achievement for the Barness Organization) from the Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce.
ALLIANCE BANK
Alliance Bank named Dennis D. Cirucci CEO. Cirucci replaces former CEO William E. Hecht, who left Alliance to pursue ministry opportunities. Hecht will remain a nonexecutive chairman of the board.
Cirucci began working with Alliance Bank in 1983, and has held various executive positions, including executive vice president, treasurer, chief financial officer and, most recently, president, director and chief operating officer. Prior to joining Alliance, he was employed by international accounting firm Deloitte & Touche LLP. Cirucci is a member of the Pennsylvania and American Institutes of Certified Public Accountants.
SCANVEC AMIABLE
Mark Blundell was named president and CEO of Scanvec Amiable Inc. He replaces Dr. Ramon Harrel, who became chairman of the board of directors.
Blundell has 20 years of management experience, serving as president and CEO of New Paradigm Software Corp. Previously, he was CEO of the London Futures and Options Exchange.
ARAMARK
ARAMARK appointed four senior operating executives to senior vice president positions. Jack Donovan was named senior vice president, ARAMARK, and president, ARAMARK Business, Sports and Entertainment. He is responsible for the team that manages conference centers, stadiums, amphitheaters, arenas and other tourist attractions. Donovan has been with ARAMARK since 1988, and has held positions in Campus Services, Business Services and Correctional Services. He has an undergraduate degree from Duke University and an MBA from the University of Southern Alabama.
Andrew Kerin was named senior vice president, ARAMARK, and president, ARAMARK Healthcare, Facilities and Education. He leads the Education Group and Healthcare Management Services, in addition to managing all facilities services business. Kerin joined ARAMARK in 1995, serving as senior vice president, and later, as president of the Facility Support Services subsidiary and president of Correctional Services.
Ravi Saligram was named senior vice president, ARAMARK, and president, ARAMARK International. He manages ARAMARK’s business outside the United States and Canada. Saligram joined ARAMARK in 2003 as president of international operations. Previously, he held management positions with the InterContinental Hotels Group, including North American president for brands and franchise. He began his career in account management with Leo Burnett Co. in Chicago.
Thomas Vozzo was named senior vice president, ARAMARK, and president, ARAMARK Uniform and Career Apparel. He oversees ARAMARK Uniform Services, WearGuard/Crest and Galls. Vozzo joined WearGuard in 1985 and managed its integration into ARAMARK and also led the integration of Galls into ARAMARK.
COMMERCE BANCORP
Commerce Bancorp promoted Dennis M. DiFlorio to president of retail banking and operations. His new duties encompass not only store operations but also information technology, security, training and human resources.
DiFlorio joined Commerce in 1988 as operations director. In 1993, he was promoted to senior retail officer, and has steadily gained more responsibility for the management of the bank’s branches.
Commerce also promoted Robert D. Falese to president of commercial and investment banking. His responsibilities include managing small business and community banking, middle market and commercial banking, Small Business Administration lending and a variety of specialized commercial financing services. Falese joined Commerce in 1992 as executive vice president/chief lending officer.
