Taylor named chairman of InfoCision Management
InfoCision Management Corp. founder Gary Taylor has taken on the role of chairman of the board, and COO Carl Albright was promoted to president.
As chairman, Taylor will set the long-term direction, policies and guidelines under which the company must operate. He will also have more time to focus on the most important aspects of InfoCision’s long-term growth. He aims to exponentially increase the company’s business-to-business and inbound customer-care work, as well as position InfoCision to grow and thrive in light of complex regulatory compliance issues.
Albright will report directly to Taylor and oversee all aspects of the company’s day-to-day operations. He will ensure that the company operates within the constraints and guidelines and in the overall direction established by the board under Taylor’s leadership.
Albright is a 13-year veteran of InfoCision. He has served in a number of leadership roles, including director of telemarketing and senior vice president – call center operations. Most recently as COO, Albright oversaw the company’s sales, marketing, call-center and IT operations. He created and implemented individual, performance-based bonus programs for each InfoCision employee and developed a system to dedicate specialized groups of InfoCision IT professionals to each individual client.
Albright is a resident of Fairlawn, and graduated with honors in 1989 from The Ohio State University with degrees in journalism and political science.
Liberty Bank
Liberty Bank appointed Richard C. Ebner chief operating officer and chief financial officer. Ebner will be directly responsible for the financial and operational aspects of the bank. He has more than 30 years of experience in the banking industry, primarily in the Cleveland area.
Prior to his employment at Liberty Bank, Ebner was CFO of DeepGreen Bank, an Internet-only bank. From 1997 to 2000, Ebner was responsible for all the financial aspects of the nonbank subsidiaries of Charter One Bank. Prior to the Charter One relationship, he held various management positions at Haverfield Corp. and Home Bank, ultimately serving as COO, CFO and treasurer of both Haverfield Corp. and Home Bank. Prior to Home Bank, he was employed with KeyCorp in various capacities.
Ebner is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Institute of Management Accountants.
Summa Health System
Summa Health System named Sharon Fortunato director of Summa’s Center for Corporate Health. She will be responsible for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the delivery of patient care at the center.
The center provides a variety of occupational health services for employers in the community as well as health operations for Summa Health System employees. Its goal is to provide companies a cost-effective preventative maintenance program, immediate treatment for injuries and illness, and rehabilitation programs to help injured employees return to work quickly.
Fortunato began her career at Summa as a staff nurse in 1984. In 1986, she became manager of Occupational Health Services at Summa. She left the company in 2000, but was recruited back in 2002.
National Biological Corp.
A new ownership team has taken over National Biological Corp., a pioneer in the development and marketing of ultraviolet light technologies to treat severe skin disease.
The new management team, comprised of Mark Friedman, Ken Oif and Michael Kaufman, purchased the company from Howard Drechsler, the company’s founder, and other shareholders of record.
An 18-year veteran and formerly vice president of the company, Friedman assumes the role of president and COO, continuing to lead the day-to-day operations. As CEO, Oif will be responsible for sales strategies. Kaufman, the new CTO, will oversee the company’s joint ventures and product development efforts, as well as assist with marketing and engineering.
Drechsler remains as a consultant.
Brouse McDowell
Brouse McDowell has added a partner to the law firm. Theodore Ward joined the Cleveland office of the firm as an Of Counsel attorney with the health care and business law practice group.
Ward has more than 20 years experience representing hospitals, medical staffs, medical groups, charitable organizations and other legal aspects of the medical delivery system, including serving as in-house counsel for a three-hospital system in Cleveland. Author of a monthly column in “Cleveland Hospital and Healthcare News,” Ward writes numerous other health care law articles as well. He has also traveled the country for Medical Management Development Associates, lecturing as a national expert on health care issues, and speaks frequently on radio and television programs concerning health care and legal issues.
A graduate of Dennison University, Ward received his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 1971.
Akron Children’s Hospital
Lisa Aurilio has joined Akron Children’s Hospital as director of nursing. Aurilio’s responsibilities include supervision of the hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, General Care Units, Hematology/Oncology, Special Care Nursery at Akron General Medical Center and the nursing float pool.
She previously was a senior consultant at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young in Cleveland, where she consulted on a multimillion dollar patient care renovation project at a 322-bed hospital. She also served at various positions at University Hospitals of Cleveland, including nurse manager. Aurilio has 16 years of experience in clinical care, management and administration of women and newborns related to pregnancy, labor, delivery and postpartum and nursery care.
