Morgan picked to head First Energy subsidiary
FirstEnergy Corp. announced that Stephen E. Morgan, formerly vice president of Energy Delivery, was named president of its Jersey Central Power & Light Company subsidiary.
Morgan joined Ohio Edison Co. — which merged in 1997 with the former Centerior Energy to form FirstEnergy — in 1977 as an electrical engineer. He held a variety of field engineering and operational management positions, including superintendent of transmission and distribution, and manager of transmission and distribution technical services, before being named a regional president in 1997.
In 2002, Morgan was named vice president of energy delivery for FirstEnergy — which merged in 2001 with the former GPU Inc. — overseeing energy delivery functions, including planning and protection services for the transmission and distribution systems, energy delivery business services, and operations and technical support services.
Unizan Bank
Jane E. Schaade was named assistant vice president, private banking, for Unizan Bank. Schaade will establish client relationships and provide advice and solutions to meet the financial needs of high-net-worth individuals and their families. Previously, she was assistant vice president and trust officer for Unizan Financial Services Group, where she was responsible for establishing and administering personal trusts, estates and investment management accounts for clients.
Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs
Robert Briggs was appointed to the Ohio Venture Capital Authority by Gov. Bob Taft. His term will expire Jan. 31, 2007. Briggs is chairman of Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs. He received his B.A degree from Duke University and his J.D. degree from The Ohio State University.
Akron Dispersions
Akron Dispersions Inc. promoted Jim Finn to president. Finn was previously vice president and has been with the company since 1993, when he began as a business and marketing manager. He has worked in the polymer industry for more than 34 years and has served as chairman of the International Latex Conference for the past seven years.
Michael Giustino will assume the responsibilities of CEO. Giustino has owned the company since 2000.
Brouse McDowell
Robert M. Walter and Valerie M. Hanna joined the law firm of Brouse McDowell as partners in the environmental practice group. Walter has focused his law practice on environmental regulation, counseling and litigation for more than 30 years. Prior to joining the firm, he served as senior counsel for TRW Inc. Hanna was formerly with TRW Inc. as environmental counsel.
Prompt Recovery Services Inc.
Prompt Recovery Services Inc. appointed Melvin Gaines to the new corporate position of manager, support operations. Gaines role is to define, develop and implement corporate standards and practices related to client services, marketing, communications and overall business operations.
PRS also appointed Julie A. Los as collection manager. Los was brought in to provide leadership and direction to the collection staff.
