Treacherous weather is part of the deal when you live in Northeast Ohio, but this time, it wasn’t a lake-effect snowstorm that Corporate College had to deal with. Instead it was ice in Texas that had grounded a keynote speaker for a conference at the Corporate College East location in Warrensville Heights.
A big problem, right? Not for Corporate College. Arrangements were quickly made for the speaker to deliver her address live over the phone, with her voice amplified for the audience.
Her presentation was displayed on the front screen and a photo of the speaker was projected on a side screen so audience members could see who they were listening to.
While it wasn’t the same as a truly live presentation, it enabled the conference to continue as planned.
It’s that responsiveness that Linda Simmons demands from every one of her employees as president at Corporate College. The belief is that if the organization is going to be training others about customer service and better business practices, it needs to do the same with its own people.
Staff members are given the latitude to go the extra mile to solve problems for clients and make sure they get what they need. So when an individual walked into the wrong facility to take her nursing exam, an exam she had spent $300 for and needed to achieve her dreams, several employees dropped everything and made sure she got where she needed to be.
Those same staffers also followed up to learn that she did indeed make it to the right location and successfully passed her exam. Just as clients of Corporate College are seeking to improve themselves, employees of the institution are constantly seeking to improve the service they provide.
