When a company posts the numbers that SS&G Healthcare Services LLC has, there’s only one thing those numbers can mean — success.
In its 10 years in business, the company experienced total revenue growth of more than 2,000 percent with an average annual growth of 42 percent. Under the guidance of Managing Director Thomas Ferkovic, the company’s revenue increased almost 70 percent for the year (as of year-end 2008).
As much as the company is on a roll now, it didn’t begin with much fanfare. SS&G HCS evolved from a collaboration of three professionals but now employs 96 people, adding 26 employees last year. The 2007 acquisition of Physician Business Systems Inc. helped position SS&G HCS as one of the strongest and fastest-growing providers of practice management and billing services to physician groups, dental groups and hospitals in the region.
The company hasn’t only grown internally but also by adding more clients. SS&G HCS has strategically increased its client base to more than 600 physicians from hospital-based practices as well as sole practitioners and professionals in the dental and veterinary fields.
One of the innovative ways the company has been able to help existing clients and bring in new clients is through the creation of SS&G Healthcare University. The university offers seminars, round tables and conferences for physicians, practice managers and business executives in the health care industry.
The group regularly hosts educational seminars on various topics, and senior executives from hospitals around the region were brought together for round-table discussions pertaining to issues surrounding employed physicians.
Whether it’s through a university initiative or finding new ways to attract clients and retain current ones, SS&G HCS is positioning itself nicely for the future.
With the health care industry estimated to grow 19 percent in the next 10 years, the company will continue to pursue opportunities for growth, whether it’s through mergers, new service offerings or new clientele.
After all, the company is closing in on its goal of becoming a $10 million company after 10 years, so why not try and hit another goal in the future.
