After Mylle Mangum took over the position of CEO at IBT Holdings LLC, she immediately began to turn the company around. The company was faced with considerable debt, but she wasn’t deterred. Instead, she saw great potential in what was a stagnant company.
Upon taking the reins in 2003, the company’s revenue was less than several million dollars, but by 2006, she had paid down the company’s debt and increased revenue 100 percent. This organic growth fueled the 2007 acquisition of Design Build Concepts, nearly double revenue by the end of 2007.
Last year, while the banking and construction industries got pummeled, IBT was able to remain profitable despite the mess. In fact, IBT Holdings saw revenue grow by several million dollars last year, and it also achieved the company’s highest revenue ever. Mangum was able to do this by acting prudently and challenging her team to more efficiently deliver forward-thinking facilities to its clients — more than 90 percent of which are financial institutions.
Mangum’s drive is not just limited to her work at IBT. She is also a member of the board for a number of organizations, including Emory University’s Goizueta Business School, Piedmont College, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and the Technology Association of Georgia. She is a current member and past president of the Committee of 200, which is an organization of senior female corporate executives and entrepreneurs.
She also shares her business knowledge by serving on the board of directors of Payless ShoeSource Inc., Haverty Furniture Cos. Inc., Barnes Group Inc., Emageon Inc. and Decatur 1st Bank. Additionally, she was named Women in Technology’s 2004 Woman of the Year in Technology.
