While he was born in Oakville, Alabama, Jesse Owens and his sharecropper family moved to Cleveland when he was 9 — and Ohio earned a share of the spotlight on the hero of the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin.
And in this 80th year since the event, the first biopic on Owens, “Race,” has been released, covering his early years through his Olympic accomplishments.
