David Ganzsarto’s entrepreneurial
endeavors began at a young age with
the childhood businesses he started, from his newspaper route to selling items
to other kids. That same entrepreneurial
spirit carried him through life and helped
him found Alternate
Solutions HomeCare.
Ganzsarto and his
wife, Tessie, decided to start their
own home health
care business after
the company she
was working at was
bought and changed
cultures.
They began in 1999
with supplemental
staffing from an
agency that supplied
labor to home health
care facilities and
hospitals in the Dayton area. They had their
struggles, as it was challenging to acquire
the needed certifications and accreditations. There were also regulatory changes
relating to Medicare reimbursement, which
while being a challenge, also meant that
other businesses exited the industry.
Their big break came when Area Agency on
Aging offered to help Alternate Solutions get
certified and give them a client list from one
of the local organizations that had recently
closed. Ganzsarto received his Medicare
license in 2001, and has been providing quality home health care services ever since.
Ganzsarto’s commitment to treating all
his customers like family has paid off, as
the company has had impressive revenue
growth since 2004 and maintains a customer satisfaction rating of 94 percent.
Additionally, 90 percent of new hires are
referred by his current employees. With
satisfied employees and customers, he’s
well on his way to continued success.
