than 20 years of experience in management and education to his position at the
school’s helm.

Jain’s areas of
research include the
marketing of high-tech products, market segmentation
and competitive market structure analysis, cross-cultural
issues in global product diffusion, new
product diffusion, and forecasting models.
He has had more than 50 articles published
in leading academic journals.

He teaches courses on marketing research,
new products and services, and statistical
models in marketing. In 2003, he was
appointed as a foreign affairs adviser for the
prime minister of Thailand. He has served as
a consultant to Microsoft, Novartis,
American Express, Sony, Nissan, Motorola,
Eli Lilly, Phillips and Hyatt International. He
also serves on the board of directors of
Hartmarx Corp., Deere & Co., Northern Trust
Corp., and Peoples Energy. He is also a former director of United Airlines.

Jain has served as departmental editor
for the journal, Management Science, area
editor for Marketing Science and associate
editor for the Journal of Business and
Economic Statistics. He is also a former
member of the editorial board of the
Journal of Marketing Research.

Jain travels the world building the
Kellogg brand and puts every minute to
use. It’s often on long flights that he finds
he is best able to contemplate management
decisions, design strategy or revise a lesson plan or lecture, since he can momentarily escape e-mail and cell phones.
