What started as a simple family business for Evan Knoll has turned
into a high-octane fuel blending, storing and resale facility.
Knoll was a master distributor for
Sunoco from 1987 to 1995 when he got the
itch to develop a fuel that would make
things go faster.
The result was
Torco Racing Fuels
Inc.
Torco has become
one of the top private energy reserve
movers in the country. Knoll has blended
his own fuels and currently has 13 patents
and trademarks on race fuel and performance products.
The company has stretched into car-care
products, power products and additives
along with complementing apparel and
merchandise lines. Knoll also owns and
operates Knoll Gas and Propane, which is
a wholesaler and retailer of propane products servicing the state of Michigan.
The company constantly deals with the
ever-changing prices of fuel and crude oil,
and competition from some of the world’s
largest fuel suppliers, such as Sunoco,
Citgo and Shell. The company deals with
such obstacles by providing a first-class
product, competitive prices and first-class
customer service.
Knoll has always had a passion for fast
cars and the sport of automotive racing. He
is a licensed driver himself and understands the drive and desire of competition.
In 2004, Torco embarked on a national
brand campaign to bring its products to the
forefront of motor sports. By the end of
2006, Torco not only met the anticipated
goals of branding and sales but also
exceeded them.
The company is the official fuel supplier
of IHRA, Monster Jam, AMA Super Cross
and many of the premier racing facilities in
the country.
