After being retooled in 2002 as a service
company, CEO Ganesh Iyer led
Vertex Computer Systems to profit and success.
The company has created over 60 high-paying technological jobs and has become
a service provider for Fortune 1000 companies. Iyer credits customer service and
quality to his success — success that
allows Vertex Computer Systems to retain
nearly 100 percent of its customers every
year.
Vertex Computer Systems, which started
as a product company in 1989, was developed into a service provider in 2002 to capitalize on the industry trends. At this point,
the well-timed corporate reorganizing was
the only thing that saved Vertex from sudden death. After the restructure, Vertex
Computer Systems gained its first major
client, Procter & Gamble.
Vertex has also received the Corporate
Growth Award by the city of Twinsburg for its contribution to the local economy.
Iyer notes four things that structure the
service company’s delivery framework:
reduction of risk, time, cost and quality.
With these, the company works to secure
success on all projects. The self-described,
“Service without Boundaries” corporation
has flourished from six employees in 2000
to over 110 in 2007. Iyer stresses a theme of
“service above profit” within his company,
and new offices in India and Cincinnati
prove that Vertex’s extensive customer
service style is working.
When a new client is added, he or she is
provided with a personalized account and
program manager. This allows for a higher
amount of accuracy since the company’s
account teams are able to match their
structure to their client’s.
Future plans for Vertex include opening
additional office locations throughout the
United States in the next five to 10 years.
Through Iyer’s hard work and dedication to Vertex Computer Systems, he was able
to turn the company into the successful
enterprise it is today. Iyer says he “could
not ask for anything better.”
