Susan Sentell helps her Gladson team manage the vastness of its work

Keep your eyes and ears
on the customer

Whether you’re focused internally or externally, you can never forget the customer. Sales people often have the most contact with your customers, but both you and others on your team should be in regular contact with them as well.
“We want to make sure there is broad involvement because it’s important for all of us to keep in touch,” Sentell says. “It’s important for them to know that they have the ear of the company.”
And when you have a great idea that works for one customer, don’t hesitate to see if it might work for others.
“Develop ideas with an eye toward being able to scale quickly as demand grows,” Sentell says. “You always want to keep an eye on those opportunities.” ●
