There is wisdom in recognizing a need and knowing personal limits, and WellCorp Inc. president Cheryl Agranovich understands both.
As an emergency room nurse, she often saw patients who didn’t know how to take good care of themselves. Recognizing the need for an educational forum to help people make good health care decisions, she started an executive health coaching company but soon realized she needed to reach a broader audience.
Today, WellCorp delivers corporate health management products and services on-site in Solon, by telephone, by direct mail and online. The Solon office provides health risk appraisals, health screenings, health fairs, training seminars and strategic program design. WellCorp’s Web site features a health risk appraisal, interactive health site, event registration tool and incentive program.
Subscribing to the philosophy, “If you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it,” Agranovich gathers and analyzes data from WellCorp’s programs. This information provides her with a cost/benefit analysis of how well the program is working.
As a result of her company’s growth, Agranovich has come to know her limits with respect to the business aspect of WellCorp. Surrounded by a well-seasoned management team, she has formed a business advisory board, developed an operations plan and hired a financial planner to enhance benefits and compensation for her 50 employees.
Agranovich plans to increase WellCorp’s total revenue by 30 percent by the end of 2006 and triple its revenue within the next three years. She is spearheading a corporate reorganization to create better communication and to distribute WellCorp’s workflow more evenly. She is also establishing an Eastern region branch office and developing programs for retirees and community centers.
