The Timken Co. named Donald J. Remboski vice president – product innovation in the Technology Group at Timken Research in North Canton. In this new position, Remboski helps the company accelerate both top- and bottom-line growth by creating strategies for inventing and deploying new product technologies.
Sal Miraglia, senior vice president – technology, says, “Remboski’s knowledge of complex automotive systems will be extremely valuable as the company moves into new markets, which will require customer centricity, conceptualization, development and the manufacture of new and unique products to serve those markets.”
Early in his career, Remboski was employed as a programmer at Manufacturing Data Systems Inc. and the University of Michigan, both in Ann Arbor, Mich. In 1983, he moved to Digital Equipment Corp. in Hudson, Mass., where he served as design engineer in the Semiconductor Engineering Group.
In 1985, he moved to Barrack Laboratories in Marlborough, Mass., as project coordinator on the Spark-Ignition Engine Programs. Since 1991, he worked for Motorola Automotive in Dearborn and Farmington Hills, Mich., where he held positions of senior project engineer, staff engineer and senior staff engineer of the Advanced Projects Group and member of the technical staff. His most recent position was director, Automotive Innovation Center.
He holds 38 personal patents and has received the Motorola Distinguished Innovator Award and Motorola Master Innovator Award. He received a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from the University of Michigan.

Bruner-Cox promoted Gregory J. Blasiman to partner. Blasiman is part of the firm’s Construction and Real Estate Services Group, Health Care and Not-for-Profit Services Group and the Accounting and Audit Standards Committee. He provides operational consulting, budget preparations, cash flow analysis, overhead application and documentation of claims services to service-industry clients. He helped set the firm’s standards for audit, review and compilation services.
Blasiman is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants. He graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor of science degree in business administration.

Summa Health System promoted Laura Hnat to senior development officer. Her new responsibilities include liaison to Women’s Boards, special events coordinator and major gifts officer.
Hnat joined Summa in 2002 as major gifts officer. Previously, she was associate director of fund development for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cleveland, as well as director of marketing and development at Providence House Inc., a crisis nursery for abused and neglected children in Cleveland.

William G. Lamb replaced David Smith as regional president and CEO for FirstMerit Bank. Lamb heads 22 Lorain and Erie county offices. His most recent position was director of FirstMerit’s retail division.
Lamb served on the boards of LCCC Foundation, EMH Regional Medical Center, Boy Scouts of America Heart of Ohio Council and the Lorain County Chamber of Commerce. He is also a past adviser to Columbia Schools Endowment Fund.

Kent State University named Amy Lane executive director, Regional Corporate and Community Services. Reporting directly to Kent State’s vice president of the newly formed Division of Regional Development, Lane works to broaden the business outreach services of Kent State throughout Northeast Ohio, working with the work force development offices of all eight of Kent State’s campuses.
