Value Creation Partners Inc. named G. Scott Humphrey president and CEO. Humphrey is responsible for managing day-to-day operations and setting strategic direction for the recently expanded company.
“Scott Humphrey has been instrumental in growing top-line sales for our baked goods business, and at the same time, he has raised profitability through improvements in the effectiveness and efficiency of our supply stream,” says Douglas A. Smith, chairman of Value Creation Partners and former president and CEO. “He’ll now be leading the integration and future of our larger-scale business. I’ve worked with Scott for a dozen years, and I’m confident that his leadership will enable the organization to become the industry’s most innovative and reliable supplier of specialty baked goods products.”
Humphrey most recently was executive vice president of manufacturing, logistics and R&D for Value Creation Partners, and was a founding partner of the privately owned firm.
He was previously with Borden Foods Corp. from 1996 to 1998 as vice president of technology. Prior to that, he was worldwide vice president of development for Johnson & Johnson’s Absorbent Products and Materials Division; vice president, technology for Kraft Canada; and held leadership positions with companies including Anheuser-Busch and Procter & Gamble.
Humphrey earned an MBA from Xavier University and a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from Purdue University.
SYPHERLINK INC.
Sypherlink Inc. appointed William McCormick chief operating officer. McCormick is responsible for managing Sypherlink’s day-to-day operations, including finance, sales, marketing, development and execution of strategic initiatives.
McCormick was also named to the Sypherlink board of directors. He has more than 25 years of senior-level executive experience in high-tech organizations including IBM, Paylinx, Sterling Commerce, Cybersource, Incentive Logic, Computer Sales International and G.A. Sullivan. Sypherlink also hired Kristina Campbell as director of marketing. She is responsible for Sypherlink’s communications and sales support efforts, including channel partner programs, direct marketing, advertising, public relations and event management.
Most recently, Campbell was marketing director for Title First Agency, one of the largest independent title companies in the nation.
MEEDER FINANCIAL
Dale Smith joined Meeder Financial’s senior management team in the dual roles of chief financial officer and chief operating officer.
Smith brings more than 23 years of financial services experience to Meeder Financial, including positions in accounting, operations, business development and strategic planning. Prior to joining Meeder, he was senior vice president of financial services for BISYS Fund Services.
Meeder Financial also hired Mike Lydon as director of client services and business development. Previously, Lydon was director of institutional trust custody and securities lending for Huntington Bancshares Inc.
Albert H. Chu, CFA, also joined Meeder Financial as co-portfolio manager for fixed-income portfolios and as an assistant portfolio manager for the growth and aggressive growth portfolios. Chu will also serve on Meeder’s Investment Management Committee and assist in the selection of mutual funds for the firm’s investment management offerings, while specializing in equity market research and economic analysis.
CRAWFORD HOYING SMITH
Crawford Hoying Smith appointed Conni Hale vice president of commercial properties. With more than 15 years of property management experience, Hale will steer the development of the commercial real estate management division.
She will oversee the management functions of Crawford Hoying Smith’s entire commercial portfolio. She will supervise client, tenant and vendor relations for all of her properties, as well as ensuring that all of her service contracts function accurately and cost-efficiently, and attempt to reduce building expenses whenever possible.
THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER
Les Ridout was named chief human resources officer at The Ohio State University Medical Center.
Ridout has nearly 30 years of leadership experience in the field. He is responsible for employment, labor relations, compensation, employee development and training and other programs supporting more than 12,000 employees of the medical center. In addition, he will direct other areas of operations, including community outreach, volunteer services and employee health.
The Ohio State Medical Center also promoted Gail B. Marsh to senior associate vice president for health sciences. Marsh has worked in the medical center for more than 17 years, most recently as associate vice president, chief strategy officer and administrator for health system quality and performance.

RMD Advertising hired Stacey Stathulis as director of public relations. Stathulis is responsible for implementing public relations strategies, managing all public relations business and growing the public relations practice.
Stathulis has more than a dozen years of award-winning public relations, marketing and journalism success. He is a veteran of issues management and crisis communication plans. In addition to extensive agency experience, Stathulis has worked in the corporate setting as an external communications manager for a direct selling company and has worked as a journalist covering sports, business and general news.
