Stark appointed Riverside Co. senior executive officer

The Riverside Co. named Sandra Stark to the newly created position of senior executive officer.

Stark was previously director of the Entrepreneurship Center at Baldwin-Wallace College. Prior to her academic career, she gained experience in the financial services industry during her 21 years at KeyCorp., where she started as a division secretary and rose to vice chair of the company’s small business services unit, one of the largest of its kind in North America and one of Key’s most profitable businesses, with $120 million in net income.

Stark is responsible for staff and organizational development, recruitment, retention and aspects of compensation. She will act as a coach to personnel at Riverside, create process improvements and maximize the efficiency of the growing private-equity firm.

“Sandy’s role will be unique in its internal focus with a priority on staff development,” says Stewart Kohl, Riverside’s managing general partner based in the firm’s Cleveland office. “We’ve always been fortunate to hire people of great quality, but we recognize the importance of dedicating a person to help us continue our ability to keep them happy, motivated and efficient in their roles.”

Born and raised in Cleveland, Stark earned a bachelor of arts degree in accounting and an MBA from Baldwin-Wallace College.

XTERIC

Xteric, an information technology and business consulting firm, named Christopher Snider CEO.

Snider is responsible for executing Xteric’s business strategy and guiding the company. He assumes responsibility for business development, marketing and strategic partnerships. Brad Wertz will remain as president of Xteric, providing leadership for its business operations and ensuring operational excellence and client satisfaction. Stuart Taylor will retain his role as chairman of the company.

Snider was previously senior vice president of Brulant, where he oversaw operations and was the leading sales generator, providing contributions to the turnaround and growth of Brulant during the last two years. He was responsible for nearly 50 percent of Brulant’s sales, adding major new clients such as KeyBank, National City Bank, Goodyear and ICI Paints.

Prior to Brulant, Snider was VP of IT and e-business for a $1 billion division of Textron Corp. His industry experience also includes a 10-year stint with Sherwin-Williams. His consulting background includes jobs with Price Waterhouse and Caliber Logistics, a third-party logistics company, where he worked with companies such as Dell Computer, Nike Corp., General Motors and Sears. He has also participated in several mergers and acquisitions, including the sale of a privately owned middle-market company.

Life Settlement Insights

Life Settlement Insights (LSI) appointed Frederic D. Walton chief operating officer. His responsibilities include executive management of day-to-day operations and technology.

Walton has more than 25 years of experience in administration, including acting as vice president of systems development at ValMark Securities. He also served as the regional operations manager for U.S. individual and group pensions at Manulife Financial, where he administered 401(k) distribution efforts. Earlier in his career, Walton was vice president of operations at BISYS Insurance Services, as well as a sales and registered representative at Metropolitan Life Insurance Co.

He holds an MBA from the University of Kentucky and advanced insurance industry degrees from the Life Office Management Association.

Aztek

Kevin J. Latchford was promoted to executive vice president of Aztek. He was previously director of sales.

Aztek, experiencing continued growth, promoted him in an effort to streamline business processes. He will work directly with the CEO and CFO on operational matters and is responsible for the sales division, account management team, technical support team and business operations for the technology and creative divisions.

Latchford joined Aztek in July 2002 after spending 2 1/2 years as president of Westlake-based techSource Solutions, where he managed both the day-to-day operation and growth strategies for the technology project team recruiting practice and the technology sales professionals recruiting practice.

Roetzel & Andress

Carl Dyczek joined the Cleveland office of Roetzel & Andress as a partner in the Corporate and Business Services Group.

Dyczek’s practice focuses on commercial and financial transactions. He regularly represents lenders in originating and participating in commercial loan transactions, including portfolio and conduit lenders. He also has significant experience in loan restructuring and workouts for both senior and subordinated debt. In addition, he represents clients in a broad range of commercial transactions and activities, focusing in the acquisition, sales and leasing of real property.

The James B. Oswald Co.

Robert Klonk was promoted to executive vice president, director of benefits, at The James B. Oswald Co.

Klonk has 21 years of benefits risk management and life insurance experience, specializing in the financial and technical aspects of plan design and application. He developed and introduced a packaged health care services solution for mid-sized employers headquartered in Northeast Ohio. He also co-designed and introduced a multiyear, customizable and packaged solution of health assessment, prevention and education services to help reduce medical plan costs for area employers.

He is a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters, the Northeastern Ohio Association of Health Underwriters, the Society of Financial Professionals, the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and the Worldwide Employee Benefits Network.

Robert Falls & Co.

Eileen Petridis was promoted to senior vice president at Robert Falls & Co. Public Relations. Petridis, who joined the agency 11 years ago, most recently served as vice president. In her new position, she directs the media relations efforts for a number of national consumer, business-to-business and health care accounts and is a member of the agency’s new business team.

Prior to joining Robert Falls & Co., Petridis spent several years as an account supervisor and director of public relations at a local advertising agency.
