The American Institute of Architects National Associates Committee awarded its Columbus Chapter, AIA Columbus, its annual Associate Level Chapter of the Year Award. The award is the highest given and recognizes the Columbus chapter for its commitment to associate members.
Robin Holderman, vice president of business development for Title First Agency, is the new president of the Foundation Board of the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute. Holderman is also the chairman of the board of the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium.
Strategic retail development company RPA hired Jenny Barrett as director of strategic services. Barrett will further define and grow RPA’s strategic capabilities. Jacqueline Pollok was promoted to senior strategist. She has provided retail consulting services for Sprint, Kmart and Kodak.
Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing announced a major housing redevelopment initiative that, when completed in 2005, will be the largest low-income housing project of its type in the nation. Campus Partners, Broad Street Management, Red Mortgage Capital Inc., Albert M. Higley Co., Baker Henning Productions Inc., Urban Order Architecture, Moody/Nolan Inc. and Project Control Systems will be involved in the project.
Edward Howard & Co. has been recognized for having the nation’s best business-to-business marketing program for an existing product. It received a Gold SABRE Award for its 2002 campaign for the Wallcoverings Association. The awards are sponsored by the Holmes Group and recognize the best public relations programs in the nation.

The Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University announced the top three winners of its third annual Deloitte & Touche Business Plan Competition. The competition offers a total of $100,000 in cash and services shared among the top three teams. At least one member of each team must be an Ohio State University student. First place honors went to Mobius Microsystems Inc., second to TeleVisit and third to Bavoy Inc.
Steve Dusenberry was named senior vice president/group creative director at Gerbig, Snell/Weisheimer, an independent advertising agency. Dusenberry previously held the same position with BBDO Chicago.
Dr. Steven F. Brezny of The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Public Health received the American Medical Association’s Excellence in Medicine Award, presented to young professionals who are involved in the support and education of medical students and who have taken positions of leadership in serving those in their community.
Edward Razek, president and chief marketing officer for brand and creative services of Limited Brands, and Jonathon Eesly, managing partner in the Columbus office of KPMG LLP public accounting firm, were appointed to the governing board of the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute.
Marketing Works Inc., a Worthington-based marketing and public relations firm, was honored with several Biz Comm awards by the Business Marketing Association’s Columbus Chapter. The firm was awarded Best of Show, Best of Category and Award of Excellence for Collateral/Print for its work with Progressive Medical Inc. of Westerville.
Crowe Chizek and Co. ranked No. 1 among accounting and consulting firms in the Central Midwest, according to Accounting Today magazine. The ranking was based on net revenue. Practical Accountant magazine ranked Crowe Chizek No. 1 among 15 firms in the North Central region.
