How two brothers grew the family business at Nagy’s Collision Centers
Nagy’s Collision Centers is a family-founded collision repair business that was started by Dave Nagy in 1973. Twenty years later, Dave’s sons Ron and Dan Nagy, today president and vice president, would buy the business, running it as a single location for the next decade. In 2006, the brothers opened a repair facility, and have continued to expand to the eight locations they currently own.
The Nagys take pride in having five of the company’s original six employees from the time they bought the business still working for the company. They continue to invest in the business, buying the latest car repair equipment, such as computerized paint mixing and resistance spot welders capable of welding ultra high-strength steels to stock their shops.
Customers are the center of Nagy’s concerns. The brothers say they don’t believe in customer service — they believe in customer servants. To that end, the company has an Autowatch service, which offers customers the opportunity to watch the progress of their cars’ repairs online. Customers can also submit photos of their cars’ damages and get an e-estimate from the company.
The company also is involved with the communities it serves. Its owners and managers have attended chamber leadership programs in Holmes, Wayne and Ashland counties. It’s also a member of the chambers in Green, Wooster, Holmes, Ashland and Wadsworth.
Nagy’s is a corporate sponsor of the Wayne County Children’s Advocacy Center Inc. and won Top Shop honors from Auto Body Repair Network Magazine each year between 2011 and 2013.
