The shooting that took place at Sandy Hook Elementary School, dubbed the New Town Tragedy, had an impact on Kevin and Alexis Lariviere. Near the same time the shooting occurred, the brother and sister unexpectedly lost their uncle. Their grief, and empathy for those experiencing the same, led them to found Healing Hope Chest as a way to cope with difficult losses.
