Karlsberger Companies, central Ohio’s second largest architecture firm, was recognized with an American Architecture Award for its design of the Carl B. Stokes Federal Courthouse/Office Building in Cleveland. The design was selected from several hundred submissions.
The Building Industry Association of Central Ohio honored Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman as its Citizen of the Year. Mayor Coleman was recognized for his efforts in revitalizing housing in Columbus and establishing the Columbus Housing Trust Fund.

Dr. Charis Eng, a clinical cancer geneticist at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, won the designation of Doris Duke Distinguished Clinical Scientist. Eng will receive a grant of $1.5 million over five years.
Ohio is listed among the nation’s best states when it comes to developing new applications for the Internet, according to CIO Magazine. The CIO-100 awards singled out the state’s main Web portal and Ohio Business Gateway as examples of innovative integration.
