Franklin County Treasurer Wade Steen received the 2002 Innovation in Public Finance Award from the Ohio Government Finance Officers Association. This award recognizes individuals for implementing a unique, time-saving or cost-effective procedure or program in the public sector that has potential application for other entities.

Rea & Associates, a regional accounting and business consulting firm, moved from 97th to 94th in Public Accounting Report‘s list of America’s top 100 largest public accounting firms in 2002. Rea & Associates is located in Dublin.

Mercedes-Benz awarded Crown Mercedes-Benz in Dublin its Best of the Best 2001 award, which identifies dealerships that excel in a number of performance objectives, including customer relationship management and market penetration.

The Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business placed 18th in the second Wall Street Journal/Harris Interactive survey of corporate recruiters, in which 260 business schools were included. Only the top 50 were ranked.

Michael Lanese was named senior vice president and market executive for National City’s Private Client Group, serving Central Ohio. Private Client Group services include investment management, fiduciary and estate administration, private banking and financial consulting.

Schoedinger Funeral and Cremation Service appointed Ray Harold Windisch as controller. Hiss responsibilities include payroll, financial reporting and supervising the bookkeeping staff.

Teresa Russell was appointed president of Courtney Staffing Services in Dublin. She has 18 years experience in the recruiting industry.

Better Business Bureau of Columbus awarded four companies its 2002 Business Integrity Award, which goes to businesses that exemplify the BBB’s mission and principals. This year’s awards went to Wood Werks Supply Inc., ConTrak Corp., The Durable Slate Co. and Nationwide Insurance.

Dave Townsend was named vice president and SBA specialist in the Business Banking Group for the Columbus district of Key Bank. Previously, Townsend was an SBA specialist at Fifth Third Bank in Columbus.
