Ohio State Sen. Eric D. Fingerhut joined the Business Administration faculty at Baldwin-Wallace College as director of economic development education and entrepreneurship.
Fingerhut has served three terms as an Ohio state senator, in 1991-92 and from 1999 to the present. He was the ranking Democrat on the Budget Committee and worked on committees related to health, aging, environment, insurance, tax policy, economic development and education. He was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1993 and served on the House Science, Space and Technology Committee, the Foreign Affairs Committee and the Banking, Finance and Urban Affairs Committee.
A graduate of Northwestern University and the Stanford University School of Law, he was a staff attorney at The Legal Aid Society of Cleveland and an associate with Hahn Loeser and Parks. He has been an adjunct faculty member in the Case Western Reserve University Department of Political Science, School of Law and Weatherhead School of Management. Most recently, he was a senior fellow at the Center for Community Solutions, where he was involved in helping the nonprofit community respond to the new federal welfare reform law.
He also assisted with rebuilding the Cleveland Municipal School District and was a participant in strategic planning efforts in a variety of public and private social service organizations. Fingerhut previously held the position of interim executive director of the Center for Community Solutions.
His book, “Making Ohio Great Again,” was published last year by Fairway Press. He also has published numerous articles in regional and national newspapers.
LUBRIZOL CORP.
The board of directors at The Lubrizol Corp. appointed Dominic J. Pileggi a board member.
Pileggi is president and CEO of Thomas & Betts Corp., a designer and manufacturer of electrical connectors and components used in industrial, commercial, communications and utility markets. He began his career at Thomas & Betts in 1979 as a sales representative and rose to president of the company’s largest business, Electrical Products, in 1994.
Pileggi left Thomas & Betts from 1995 to 2000 to take senior executive positions at Casco Plastic Inc., Jordan Telecommunications and Viasystems Group. He returned in 2000 as president, electrical products, to help lead the company’s turnaround, and was named president and chief operating officer with responsibility for the strategic and operational leadership in 2003. In 2004, he was named CEO and elected to serve on the company’s board of directors.
Pileggi holds an economics degree from Rutgers University.

McKinney Advertising & Public Relations promoted Melissa M. Lallo to account manager. In this new position, she develops and implements integrated marketing communications programs for clients. Previously, Lallo was media coordinator for McKinney.
Previously, Lallo was marketing director at Cefaratti Group, a litigation support company. She is a graduate of Miami University’s Richard T. Farmer School of Business Administration.
J. Neil Turner, CPA, joined the Brennan Financial Group as district manager of its Westlake office. He manages the company’s financial representatives and administrative personnel.
Turner has held executive positions with New York Life Insurance, CVS Corp., QualChoice Health Plan Inc., LTV Steel Co. and Price Waterhouse & Co. He is a graduate of Cleveland State University.
HUNTINGTON BANK
Huntington Bank named Tim Mouser banking office manager for its Front Street Berea office.
Previously, Mouser was banking office manager for Huntington’s main office in downtown Cleveland. He began his banking career with Huntington as a personal banker in Cincinnati. Prior to that, he was the head PGA golf professional/director of golf at Heritage Club and assistant golf professional at the Jack Nicklaus Sports Center.
Mouser has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from The Union Institute and University.
BABIN BUILDING SOLUTIONS
Babin Building Solutions appointed Doug Rende president. He focuses on integrating new strategic visions for Babin and increasing its presence in Northeast Ohio.
Rende was previously vice president and general manager of Associated Materials in Cuyahoga Falls. He also worked as vice president and general manager of Pergo Inc. in North Carolina and as vice president and general manager of corporate accounts for Armstrong World Industries in Montreal.
Babin also promoted Harry J. Mierau to vice president of operations. He oversees warehouse shipping and receiving, manufacturing, inventory control and information technology.
Mierau has been with Babin for more than 30 years, most recently as vice president of operations and general manager at Babin Building Center Inc. Previously, he worked for JD Edwards Co. and FSC Education Inc. He attended Cleveland State University and the ICM School of Business.
